After Bob gets trapped in the wall, the children think he is trapped in another dimention, and Eugene asks if he can see a lion, a witch, or a wardrobe. Eugene then insists that the book was written by Salman Rushdie while Bob disagrees.

Robin's walk through the empty city is a reference to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She leaves her apartment and is suddenly in the park by a lamp post, in a snowy, winter scene.

The title of this Ugly Betty episode is a reference to the CS Lewis book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
