Pam is supposed to be out of the office, pricing new shredders. The camera crew shows Pam walking into a movie theater, with the marquee showing that 'The King's Speech' is playing.

Tom talks to a potential investor about his new company. Tom is turned down, but Ben is offered a job as an on-air political analyst. Tom says that Ben is terrible on television, adding that Ben is like 'The King's Speech' but only in the "first part before he gets fixed".

Winston has been in Latvia for the past 2 years, and is trying to catch up on pop culture now that he's returned to the United States. He watches 'Precious' and 'The King's Speech' as well as some youtube videos.

At the beginning of the episode, Bart, Lisa and Maggie are watching The Itchy & Scratchy Show. The first segment of the cartoon is a parody of the film 'The King's Speech', called instead 'The Cat's Speech'.
