At the beginning of the episode, Stewie is playing pretend, flying a rocket ship with Rupert. He recites some of the lyrics to the song 'Rocket Man', by telling Rupert, "I miss the Earth so much, I miss my wife. It's lonely out in space."

David and Keith sing along to a tape of Dave's choir as this song plays, while they sit in traffic on their way home from vacation. The original Elton John version plays during the closing credits.
