Plot / Description

This commercial begins with a paperboy delivering a newspaper through the mail slot on someone's front door. A shaggy dog is on the inside and sees the headline, "Cat Burglar Strikes Again!" This conjures up images in the dog's head about an actual cat with a burglar's mask on stealing things in the neighborhood. He worries that the cat might break into his doghouse and steal his bone or toys, and immediately runs out to the dog house - jumping over his owner's (husband) legs, and knocking food out of the hands of their hands (wife). He makes sure his toy car, toy boat, and bone are still there and then doesn't leave the dog house for several days as he keeps guard through day and night, rain or shine. He won't leave when his owner brings the leash to go for a walk, or when a pretty little girl poodle stops by. The sound of a cat meowing at night only increases his stance. Then he has an idea - get Travelers insurance for his prized possessions. Next we see the Travelers red umbrella about his doghouse and he is no longer guarding it.
