Chevrolet, and Chevy Commercial

Fall/Winter 2011
Genres: Vehicles

Plot / Description

"Then & Now - 100 Years of Chevrolet"
This commercial show modern day landscapes and places as someone holds up an old photograph (up to 100 years old) of people with their Chevy cars and trucks taken in the same place. The backgrounds of the photos match up exactly with the real backgrounds, though of course, times have changed.

It begins with one of the first Chevrolet vehicles in a rock desert (probably Arizona or New Mexico). Next is a man standing on the hood of his car at the beach, followed by a nice summer suburban setting with a winter picture of a car in a driveway with a freshly cut Christmas tree. Next is an old photo of a Chevy Camero which someone is holding up as they drive down the highway making it look like the car in the image is also driving. We then see an old Chevy pickup truck parked at an old diner (Carolina Burgers), and another even older truck parked on top of a mountain. The next car we see is driving through the middle of a redwood tree, and then a real-life family standing in front of their car which is then covered by a similar image from the past.

After this we see a picture of an old Olympic Torch runner running in front of an old Chevy, and a little girl dressed up for winter and standing in front of a car in the city. A newlywed couple is shown kissing in the back of a car followed by kids sitting in back of a pickup truck.

At the end a picture is held up with a family and their car in front of their house. The picture is taken away and we see a modern day family in front of their new 2012 Chevy car.

Voiceover

For the first 100 years and for generations to come, thanks for making us a part of your life.

(Lyrics)
Oh beautiful, for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountains majesties
Oh, above the fruited plain
Now wait a minute,
I'm talking about America
Sweet America
God done shed his grace on thee
He crowed they good
Yes he did, in brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
