Plot / Description
This commercial for GEICO begins in an office, where a man is talking to a co-worker. He is holding a piece of paper, which he crumples into a ball and throws it to the wastebasket in the corner of the room. Dikembe Mutombo is standing next to the garbage can and blocks the shot, hitting the ball of paper back to the man at the desk, all while laughing and waggling his finger at the man. A woman at a laundromat is taking her clothes out of the dryer, tossing them into a laundry basket. Dikembe Mutombo is there, swatting her clothes, blocking the shot. He wags his finger back and forth at the woman before running away, laughing. A car pulls up to a toll booth. The man who is driving has a hand full of change that he is ready to throw in the toll booth coin collector. Dikembe Mutombo is standing there, smacking the coins with his hand, shaking his finger at the man saying "no, no, no". In an office place breakroom, a man is tossing a paper towel into the garbage can when Dikembe Mutombo runs in, smacks the paper to the ground, shaking his finger at the man telling him, "Not today!", before running off while laughing. A little boy is at the grocery store with his mother. The boy is looking at the cereal boxes, chooses a box he wants, and tosses it toward the shopping cart. Dikembe Mutombo jumps out, smacking the box of cereal, causing it to burst open. He then runs off laughing. The two GEICO musicians, standing on their stage in the grocery store explain that people who switch to GEICO insurance are happier than Dikembe Mutombo blocking a shot. Dikembe Mutombo runs up to the GEICO logo on the screen and knocks the "G" down to the ground, all while laughing his infectious laugh.
