Stan and Francine celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary, and Roger, under the guise of wedding planner Jeanie Gold, takes over the planning of a vow-renewal ceremony. Francine, after learning that Stan married her for her looks, stops her regular beauty regimen for two weeks and becomes incredibly unattractive, causing Stan to run out on their ceremony. They attempt to make their marriage work, but Stan finds it difficult to see past Francine's appearance, so she throws him out. Stan has his retinas removed, rendering him completely blind and causing him to actually listen to Francine, taste her cooking, and ultimately allow them to fall in love again. This comes to a halt when Stan points out that since he is blind, Francine would need to provide for the family. At their second, more modest vow-renewal ceremony, Francine stands Stan up. She later admits that she wants to be taken care of, not to take care of someone else. Stan and Francine both realize that they married for shallow reasons, but that they do love each other, and go through with the ceremony after Stan regains his eyesight and Francine resumes her beauty regimen.
