Ted cancels his romantic getaway to Martha's Vineyard with Zoey, in order to take her to spend the night at The Arcadian, to prove a point that the building isn't worth saving. While in their room, Ted spots the infamous 'cock-a-mouse', a half cockroach, half mouse creature that was first discovered in the Season 1 episode, 'Matchmaker'.

While trying to find the perfect cocktail to end the fight between Barney and Marshall, Lily tells Robin that Peppermint Schnapps makes Barney turn in to Richard Dawson, the former host of the game show 'Family Feud'.

Lily and Robin talk about Oprah's 2011 retirement from her long-running talk show. They both wonder what life will be like without Oprah.

Barney comes up with ideas on how to tear down The Arcardian building. He tells the group that he wants to train a real Coyote to push the plunger attached to the stack of dynamite that will implode the building.

At McLaren's, a woman is waiting for Lily and Robin to leave so she can have their booth. Lily and Robin are determined to stay, even though they are getting the "walkby-stink eye". Robin says to Lily, "Should we leave, or should we stay Lionel Richie style...'All Night Long'?".

Barney comes up with ideas for the best way to bring down The Arcadian. One idea is to attach a fuse to Eddie Van Halen's guitar, so that when the last note of the song 'Hot for Teacher' is played, it will set off the dynamite that implodes the building.

Lily and Robin go through a list of different alcohols, and what each type does to different members of the group. Robin claims that when she drinks Absinthe, she can float. At the end of the episode, Lily and Robin both go floating by the outside stairs to the building, after drinking Absinthe, while the song 'The Flower Duet' plays.
