Robin and Kevin are watching TV on the couch, when Ted comes out of his room, wanting to watch a movie. After Kevin and Robin invite him to join them, he asks Kevin if he's seen 'Die Hard'. Kevin is excited, thinking 'Die Hard' is the movie Ted rented. But Ted informs them that the movie is a documentary about coins, produced by the same guy who made 'Die Hard'.

The line, "we're gonna need a bigger booth" is a parody of the line from Jaws, "we're gonna need a bigger boat".

At the end of the episode, 'Weird Al' Yankovic makes a cameo, reading Ted's fan mail. Ted's letter starts out with telling 'Weird Al' that 'Eat It' changed his life.

Ted claims his fan letter to 'Weird Al' was the source for the idea of the song 'Like A Surgeon'.
