"Dramatized Focus Group - Super Bowl 2013 Teaser" This Big Game teaser ad shows what is supposed to be actual footage of Cars.com using a focus group to test out their Super Bowl ad campaign. We see several people around a desk and they are being asked questions until a skinny man barges in and proclaims his love for the woman running the focus group meeting. The cameraman has to get up and intervene for the woman, and we learn that he is the woman's new boyfriend which only causes more drama and problems with the first guy. He gets carried out of the room by the cameraman, but not before he jumps on the table and causes a huge scene in front of these poor people in the group. Announcer: Cars.com showed their new advertising campaign to a select group of individuals to get their reactions. Lauren: Okay, so, I just want to get everyone's first reactions. What did you think? Group: Nice. Great. Funny. Lauren: Funny. Okay, alright. So my question is, is this believable? Does it resonate with you? Woman #1: I think it's very believable. I mean, anyone that's bought a car before knows it can be a really stressful experience, and anything to take out the drama and make it a more positive experience buying a car, you know. All of a sudden, the man's hat lifts off of his head, and another head is under it playing the harmonica. Salesman: This is a nice car. We got a special on this. Low mileage... This commercial shows a man in the showroom of a car dealership. He is talking to a car salesman when all of a sudden, a second, tiny head comes out of his back and starts singing a disco-themed song about wanting a car. The man has to explain that the little head is his "confidence", and that he got it by going to cars.com and learning about the car he wanted before coming to the dealsership. Moral of the story: Go to cars.com and a creepy head will grow out of your back and sing at inappropriate moments. Salesman: Have you decided which vehicle you want to go with today? Since they all used car.com to research their purchases and find good deals first, the all kind of miss the haggling and drama typically involved in buying a car. This year's Super Bowl shows what dealerships are supposedly now doing to bring that drama back to the car buying process. At Cars.com , we've taken the drama out of car shopping.
