This commercial begins with a paperboy delivering a newspaper through the mail slot on someone's front door. A shaggy dog is on the inside and sees the headline, "Cat Burglar Strikes Again!" This conjures up images in the dog's head about an actual cat with a burglar's mask on stealing things in the neighborhood. He worries that the cat might break into his doghouse and steal his bone or toys, and immediately runs out to the dog house - jumping over his owner's (husband) legs, and knocking food out of the hands of their hands (wife). He makes sure his toy car, toy boat, and bone are still there and then doesn't leave the dog house for several days as he keeps guard through day and night, rain or shine. He won't leave when his owner brings the leash to go for a walk, or when a pretty little girl poodle stops by. The sound of a cat meowing at night only increases his stance. The commercial begins with a wide shot of a bunch of wild animals at a watering hole (stream / river) in Africa. A closer shot shows a male lion and a zebra drinking side by side. A monkey does a back flip, the stands on his hands while a group laughing hyenas laugh at his antics. Two other monkeys race by riding a baby elephant and a hippo. A meerkat stands up on top of a giraffe and dives into the water while wildebeests (gnus) walk by in the background. An alligator / crocodile swims by, and we see there is a large group of meerkats on his back. Another antelope or deer-like animal is riding on a hippopotamus' back in the water too. An elephant sprays water over the hot animals while several ostrages wander around, and a vulture runs by. A chimpanzee joins the animals in riding on the back of the alligator. This Christmas/holiday commercial features the lovable Travelers Insurance dog. He is walking around town and goes into a butcher shop because he sees a delicious bone in the window. Lurking around the corner is another dog (Boston Terrier) who peaks at him from behind a lamp post. When the Travelers' dog comes out of the butchers with the bone in his mouth, the Boston Terrier licks his lips and starts chasing him. Soon dozens of dogs are chasing him to get his bone, so he runs as fast as he can as dogs come out of everywhere. He hides down some basement stairs to trick them and sneaks out after they run past. He jumps through a hole in a fence to a backyard with a snowman where a poor old bloodhound is sadly sitting in his doghouse with a cone collar around his neck because he just went to the vet. The Travelers' dog drops the bone down for his sick friend as a Christmas present. All the dogs who were chasing him have shown up by now, but they are just lined up looking and don't steal the bone. They dogs all tilt their heads and the Boston Terrier just smiles. The Travelers dog has a special bone that is the envy of all the neighborhood dogs. This commercial shows the now-famous white and shaggy Travelers Insurance dog. He walks up to his food dish and the bone he insured is missing. There are dirty paw prints from the empty bowl to an open door. He starts following the trail which leads him down the road and into a yard with a broken white picket fence. He looks in Spike's doghouse, all over the fenced in dog park, up a big tree in the country, in a bird's nest, and inside a hollow tree. Next the dog gets on a big tree stump to view an overlook. When he gets home, a Travelers Insurance vehicle is pulling away. The next time we see him, he is lying on the rub licking his dog bone. The commercial closes with the bone back in its dish with the Travelers red umbrella over it keeping it safe. "In the Zone" This commercial shows two men golfing. One man keeps hitting his ball into the sand traps, the rough, the water, and making other horrible swings, but by the time they go out to find the ball, it is much closer to the hole - one time, even a hole in one. The guy ends up thinking he is having a great day on the green, but really the Travelers Insurance dog is finding his ball and carrying it to a better placement on the golf course after each swing. "Perfect Swing" This commercial shows a man by himself on a golf driving range at night. He takes his first swing, and then the Travelers dog runs up to him and starts barking like Lassie would. The man asks what's wrong and asks a few questions like did I leave the oven on, or am I needed in surgery, but neither of those are the case. He then asks about a his golf swing, and that's what the dog came to help with. What is is boy? BARK! BARK! Did I leave the oven on? Am I needed in surgery? "Puppy Love" This commercial begins with the Travelers Insurance dog coming out of his house. Across the street he sees a girl dog that catches his eye. We then begin a montage of scenes of the two of them spending time together. They run through a park both holding the same stick in their mouth. They steal a string of sausages from the local butcher shop and run away with them. Next we see them watching a remote controlled sailboat at a pond in the park, and later leave their paw prints in the wet cement of a new sidewalk. After being in a relationship for a while we see the male dog come home one day with a bone when he stops in his tracks and drops the bone on the floor. The room is full of puppies (which strangely look like neither of the two dogs). The final scene shows a dog house with an addition added to the side to hold all the new family members - which of course requires additional insurance.
