Tessa believes she has found the perfect costume for Halloween when she channels her inner "suburban girl", However, her fellow students get more of a fright when her costume reminds them of their recently "departed" friend. George tries to help Dallas find the fun in Halloween, but receives a shock of his own when, Dallas's husband Steven (Jay Mohr) returns home from his business trip.

Cooper, Neal and Kelly get involved when Barry and Ashley seem to be moving too quickly in their relationship.

While Earl is busy planning a Halloween party for Dodge and Earl Jr., Randy befriends Catalina's visiting nephew and tries to be a good older brother example to him. When he is caught stealing tips however, Randy tries his best to confront him and tells him to return the money. The boy then appears to go into some sort of trance, which Randy takes to be voodoo. Earl tries to convince Randy that it isn't voodoo, despite seeing voodoo dolls of each other made. After the nephew steals some of Joy's hair, Joy leads the locals in a mob intent on getting their hands on him. Randy and Earl have no choice but to defend the boy from the clutches of the mob. This episode contains a reference to the internet phenomenon Leeroy Jenkins. In the scene where Randy jumps into the crowd to keep them from attacking the boy, he jumps onto the rail of the porch and slurs "Leeroy Jenkins!".

Red gets pressured to smuggle drugs through her kitchen; Larry publishes an article about Piper in the "New York Times;" two babies come into the world.

When a old photo-frame breaks, Virginia is forced to tell Jimmy about the time when they gave him up for adoption & then adopted him back. He traces his almost brother, Brad (A real estate agent with a hat) and wonders if he would have been better-off with the adoptive parents. Virginia & Burt also try to find out what they did right. Finally Jimmy realizes that his parents are better and tries not be a lazy parent with Hope.

"Dirt Devil - The Exorcist" This ad starts out appearing to be a trailer for a new horror movie based on the Exorcist. A priest comes to a house and is lead up to a room upstairs by a woman as another man in the house prays. When they get upstairs, screams can be heard coming from a room. When the priest enters the room, the bed is empty and a girl is floating on the ceiling. She slides back and forth across the ceiling while the man looks on in terror. It is only then that we learn she is stuck on the ceiling because a woman upstairs from her is using a Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner and is sucking her up there. At the end of the ad, the cord comes unplugged and the girl falls from the ceiling. You know when it's the devil. Dirt Devil
