The Shining

The movie, Summer of '42 tells the story of Raucher as a boy, in his early teens on his 1942 summer vacation on Nantucket Island, off the coast of New England, who embarked on a one-sided romance with a woman, Dorothy, whose husband had gone off to fight in World War II.

In this parody of The Shining, Stan's dad, Randy, moves the family to an abandoned Blockbuster Video store in the hopes of reviving the video rental business. While Randy goes insane since no one goes to Blockbuster, Stan uses FaceTime on his iPad so he can stay connected with Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman during a Halloween night.

Marshall and Lily study the ways of conception. Robin's frustration with her overbearing co-anchor, Becky, continues to grow.

Marshall's obsession with his new set of bagpipes drives Lily to lie about a National Bagpiping Convention to gain some peace and quiet. Meanwhile, Ted loves tutoring eager future architects until he realizes they've been placing weekly bets on his behavior. Barney and Robin have their first fight, and despite their reluctance, ask Lily and Marshall for advice.

Maddie and Mia know that if they don't attend a family Christmas dinner with their parents at the lake house, Vicky and Joel will just pile the guilt on them so, Mia and Casey try to use the excuse that she is pregnant and Maddie finds out so she tries to make up and excuse so that she and Ben won't have to go either.

Bob becomes obsessed with an old-school burger-flipping video game after Jimmy Pesto gets the high score and writes "BOB SUX" on the leader board.

In this episode, Michael tries to liven the work atmosphere by creating a dance room called Cafe Disco out of his old Michael Scott Paper Company office. Nobody joins him at first, but eventually a dance party involving the entire office and outsiders breaks out. Phyllis injures her back and is nursed back to health by Dwight, and Jim and Pam discuss secretly getting married that day in a simple courthouse ceremony.

Cooper, Neal and Kelly get involved when Barry and Ashley seem to be moving too quickly in their relationship.

Christmas signals Nathaniel's one year death anniversary causing everyone to reminisce; Margaret has a special present for Brenda. Nikolai is beaten and mugged on Christmas Eve and Claire brings her new boyfriend to dinner. Brenda is inappropriately intimate with a total stranger in the middle of an upscale clothing store.

Sayid and Desmond confront Ben's spy on the freighter: Michael. Flashbacks show how Michael got from New York to the freighter, including his suicide attempts and deal with the Others. Ben sends Alex, accompanied by Karl and Danielle, to a Temple on the island where they will supposedly be safe, but they are attacked on the way, and Karl and Danielle are killed.

During a flashback, Jimmy, who faces multiple charges and the prospect of being branded a sex offender, is visited by Chuck in jail. Chuck promises Jimmy that he would extend his legal help, in exchange for a solid promise to quit "everything [Jimmy is] involved with". In 2002, Jimmy is still working on the Kettleman case and warns them they are at risk of getting robbed. As Jimmy returns to the Kettleman house, he's informed they have been kidnapped. Nacho, whom a neighbor spotted casing the Kettleman house, is arrested; he accuses Jimmy of tipping off the Kettlemans, and threatens to kill Jimmy unless he proves Nacho's innocence. Jimmy comes up with a theory that the Kettlemans have kidnapped themselves and strives to prove it. The police do not believe Jimmy's theory, but Mike does. Later, following Mike's advice, Jimmy locates the Kettlemans in a tent near their home, along with the embezzled $1.6 million.

Donna makes Cleveland and Rallo spend the night in a haunted house. Meanwhile, Cleveland's new friend goes on a murderous rampage and Roberta is stuck in love triangle between a vampire and a wolf.

One of Lois' relatives passes away, leaving Lois and the rest of the family her posh summer mansion in a will. However, when Peter becomes convinced that he is rich and ultimately bids $100 million at a charity auction, he attempts to convince the landowners his house is valuable enough to trade instead. After several futile attempts to "prove" that Cherrywood Manor has enough historical value to cover the bid, Peter makes up with Lois and uncovers a set of hidden photographs which show several prominent American figures (including Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, and Ulysses S. Grant) at Cherrywood Manor, which was a whorehouse at the time. This discovery allows Peter to buy back his home after selling the pictures to the tabloids. Afterwards, Peter decides that he does not care what Lois' relatives think of him, calling them "a bunch of pimps and whores".

Akalitus wins big and Frank takes Jackie out on the town, where she finds a new dealer.

GHomer takes Marge to a police-seized property auction, where he buys a sports car that was formerly Snake's. On the ride home, Marge decides to walk because of Homer's erratic driving in the new car. She runs into Lionel Hutz, who is now a realtor. Interested, Marge takes a test to become one, and soon works for a realtor company, Red Blazer Realty. However, after being threatened to be fired for failing to sell any houses, Marge must lie to the Flanders to sell them a house where murders had once taken place. Feeling guilty, Marge tells them the truth after they stay there for a night, which only seems to make them more fascinated in living in the home. Meanwhile, Snake hears about the auction of his car and is so angry that he breaks out of jail to get it back. As he and Homer fight, the car crashes into the house, causing the Flanders to move back to their home, and Marge to get fired.

Andy holds a small business seminar in the office with some special guests after he finds out that his sales are at his lowest. Michael and Holly use the seminar as an improv challenge. Erin and Gabe have a game of scrabble where she engages others to join.

"Treehouse of Horror XXIV" kicks off with "Oh, the Places You'll D'oh," a Dr. Seuss parody in which Homer cuts a path of destruction as "The Fat in the Hat." Next, a decapitated Bart is forced to live on Lisa's body in "Dead and Shoulders." Finally, in "Freaks No Geeks," Marge and Homer are circus performers in love -- and Moe is the sideshow freak who wants Marge.

"Life in the Express Lane" This commercial stars a little boy sitting in a child shopping cart that is made to look like a car. The bot sits in the "driver's seat" while the mother pushes the cart around the store and does her shopping. Because the commercial is shown from the little boy's point of view, it's actually quite an active and stressful shopping experience. He starts out happy, but soon there are other shopping carts, people, and hand-carts/dollies chaotically moving in front of him. Piles of oranges fall off like boulders in front of him, spilled milk floods must be avoided, and stacks of 2-liter soda bottles fall in front of him. At one point he has to cover his eyes. Later he navigates through a narrow gap in the aisles only to be re-ended by a similar car-cart with two twin boys inside who start at him like they are annoyed. Dark Side of the Moon is a French mockumentary by director William Karel which originally aired on Arte in 2002 with the title Operation Lune. The basic premise for the film is the theory that the television footage from the Apollo 11 Moon landing was faked and actually recorded in a studio by the CIA with help from director Stanley Kubrick. It features some surprising guest appearances, most notably by Donald Rumsfeld, Dr. Henry Kissinger, Alexander Haig, Vernon Walters, Buzz Aldrin and Stanley Kubrick's widow, Christiane Kubrick.
