Dorothy is a young girl who lives on a Kansas farm in the year 1889 with her Uncle Henry, Aunt Em, and little dog Toto. One day the farmhouse, with Dorothy inside, is caught up in a tornado and deposited in a field in the country of the Munchkins. The falling house kills the Wicked Witch of the East. The Good Witch of the North comes with the Munchkins to greet Dorothy and gives Dorothy the shoes that the Wicked Witch of the East had been wearing when she was killed. In order to return to Kansas, the Good Witch of the North tells Dorothy that she will have to go to the "Emerald City" and ask the Wizard of Oz to help her. On her way down the road paved with yellow brick, Dorothy frees the Scarecrow from the pole he is hanging on, restores the movements of the rusted Tin Woodman with an oil can, and encourages them and the Cowardly Lion to journey with her and Toto to the Emerald City. The Scarecrow wants to get a brain, the Tin Woodman a heart, and the Cowardly Lion, courage. All are convinced by Dorothy that the Wizard can help them too. Together, they overcome obstacles on the way. When the group arrives at the Emerald City, the Guardian of the Gates provides them with special green spectacles that will keep the brilliance of the Emerald City from blinding them. When each traveler meets with the Wizard, he appears each time as someone or something different. To Dorothy, the Wizard is a giant head; the Scarecrow sees a beautiful woman; the Tin Woodman sees a ravenous beast; the Cowardly Lion sees a ball of fire. The Wizard agrees to help each of them, but one of them must kill the Wicked Witch of the West who rules over the Winkie Country. As the friends travel across the Winkie Country, the Wicked Witch sends wolves, crows, bees, and then her Winkie soldiers to attack them but they manage to get past them all. Then, using the power of the Golden Cap, the Witch summons the Winged Monkeys to capture all of the travelers. When the Wicked Witch gains one of Dorothy's silver shoes by trickery, Dorothy in anger grabs a bucket of water and throws it on the Wicked Witch, who begins to melt. The Winkies rejoice at being freed of the witch's tyranny, and they help to reassemble the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman. The Winkies love the Tin Woodman and they ask him to become their ruler, which he agrees to do after helping Dorothy return to Kansas. Dorothy uses the Golden Cap to summon the Winged Monkeys to carry her and her companions back to the Emerald City, and the King tells how they were bound by an enchantment to the cap by Gayelette. When Dorothy and her friends meet the Wizard of Oz again, he tries to put them off. Toto accidentally tips over a screen in a corner of the throne room, revealing an old man who had journeyed to Oz from Omaha long ago in a hot air balloon. The Wizard provides the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion with a head full of bran, pins, and needles, a silk heart stuffed with sawdust, and a potion of "courage", respectively. Because of their faith in the Wizard's power, these otherwise useless items provide a focus for their desires. In order to help Dorothy and Toto get home, the Wizard realizes that he will have to take them home with him in a new balloon, which he and Dorothy fashion from green silk. Revealing himself to the people of the Emerald City one last time, the Wizard appoints the Scarecrow, by virtue of his brains, to rule in his stead. Dorothy chases Toto after he runs after a kitten in the crowd, and before she can make it back to the balloon, the ropes break, leaving the Wizard to rise and float away alone. Dorothy turns to the Winged Monkeys to carry her and Toto home, but they cannot cross the desert surrounding Oz. The Soldier with the Green Whiskers advises that Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, may be able to send Dorothy and Toto home. They, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion journey to Glinda's palace in the Quadling Country. Together they escape the F

After months of tension, a riot breaks loose in Em City, started by two inmates playing a game of checkers. McManus goes in to trade himself for a couple of wounded hostages and the Governor decides to take back Em City by force.

Ray begins court-ordered anger management after a family tragedy sparks a bar fight. Meanwhile, Mickey, Bunchy and Daryll prepare for Terry and Maureen's wedding and Bridget looks up a mysterious acquaintance in New York. Conor adjusts to military school and Samantha Winslow, a studio head, hires Ray to do some work for her.

The Planet Express crew ask three more questions for the What-If Machine: Bender asks what if he were human; Fry asks what if life were more like a video game; and Leela asks what if she found her true home. I, Meatbag – Farnsworth uses his latest invention to turn Bender into a human for the Nobel Committee. Bender goes on a week-long eating binge that turns him into a thousand-pound, morbidly obese blob and dies shortly after inspiring the committee to become party animals like he had. Raiders of the Lost Arcade – Earth is invaded by a race of aliens from Nintendu 64 in a manner similar to Space Invaders. Fry fails to stop the Nintendian invasion, but when their demands are revealed to be quarters for laundry, a compromise is reached allowing the Nintendians to mix their laundry with the Earthlings' in exchange for the Earth's safety. Wizzin' – Instead of seeing what would happen if she found her true home, Leela is knocked unconscious by the What-If Machine's lever and dreams herself in a parody of The Wizard of Oz with herself as Dorothy, Fry as the Scarecrow, Bender as the Tin Man, Zoidberg as the Cowardly Lion, Farnsworth as the Wizard, and Mom as the Wicked Witch. Leela decides she wants to become the new Wicked Witch instead of going home, but her reign of terror and her dream are cut short when Zoidberg splashes and melts her with water.

When the gang goes on a road trip to sell Ben's car, Kate accidentally crashes it when Ben says "I love you" for the first time, forcing everyone to share a room for the night.

At the start of the episode, Bart is hit by Mr. Burns' car. Prompted by ambulance chasing lawyer Lionel Hutz and quack doctor Nick Riviera, the Simpson family seek extensive damages from Burns for Bart's injuries.

In this episode, the Simpson family's dog, Santa's Little Helper, manages to infuriate the entire family by destroying Homer's new shoes, ruining a family heirloom, and devouring Homer's cookie. As a result, Bart is forced to train Santa's Little Helper at an obedience school so that the family will not have to give him away. At first, the dog is extremely disobedient, but, at the last minute, passes the test.

When Ted leaves the bar early to prepare a Thanksgiving feast for his friends, the gang winds up partying all night with The Blitz, an old friend from college who has bad luck. As a result Ted is forced to spend Thanksgiving with Zoey.

Pennsatucky discovers a new skill; the inmates try to scare delinquent teenagers straight; Pornstache's side business suffers a tragic setback.

Virginia encourages the family to submit their own inventions in the National Invention Convention Extravaganza, so they could win the cash prize. Burt and Andrew (Ethan Suplee) team up to create unusual flavored yogurt, while Sabrina and Jimmy create a new baby mop.

Sloan pinch-hits on Elliot's 10:00 pm show during the Fukushima nuclear crisis following the devastating earthquake, but her harsh on-air Q&A of Tokyo power company representatives could mean a trip to the unemployment line for her. Also, Will battles insomnia which leads to a revealing therapy session, as he learns a lesson in bullying after a fiery interview with an aide to presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

The movie night selection becomes controversial. Aleida makes an adjustment. Piper worries the prison punishments are getting too medieval.

Tommy takes time off and builds a deck for his neighbor, who offers advice that prompts Tommy to attempt reconciliation with Janet.

Quarles gets Boyd's prostitutes high on Oxy and subsequently manages to escape from Audrey's. Duffy is furious because he wants to collect Theo Tonin's reward for Quarles. Duffy conspires with Boyd to blow up Quarles in his car. Errol and Dickie visit Boyd's bar to approach Boyd about robbing the bank where Limehouse put Mags' money. Things go sideways quickly, with Boyd attacking Dickie, trying to asphyxiate him with a plastic bag while beating him severely. Ava intervenes and asks that Boyd hear Dickie out, angering Arlo, who also wants Dickie dead for murdering Helen in Season 2. Boyd sends Ava and Arlo to case the bank, which gets the attention of the state police and Trooper Tom Bergen, who calls Raylan. Raylan then goes to Audrey's to look for Quarles, but finds the two prostitutes and Boyd's man Jimmy tied up. Boyd figures out that Errol is trying to set him up as Limehouse would not keep the money in a bank that has been robbed multiple times. Raylan soon figures out the same thing, and confronts Limehouse, who then tells him that the money is with Loretta McCready, the girl who had been taken in by Mags after the murder of her father. After casing the bank, Ava and Arlo go to her house. Arlo, off his meds, locks Ava in her own basement and leaves to find and kill Dickie. Back at the bar, Dickie gets the drop on Johnny, and then forces the location of the money out of Errol. Dicki goes to to Lexington to rob Loretta. Upon entering Loretta's house, Dickie finds Raylan waiting. After a brief exchange, Dickie pulls his gun and Raylan shoots him. After he realizes that the bank job was a setup, Quarles goes to Boyd's bar to confront him, while Duffy watches from a distance. When Boyd approaches Quarles, Duffy and Mike blow up Quarles' car, drawing Trooper Tom to the scene. He orders Quarles to drop his weapon, and we hear a shot. When Raylan arrives moments later, he finds Tom fatally wounded, Quarles gone, Boyd unconscious, and Johnny yelling that Quarles shot Tom.

Jeff begins experiencing extreme narcissism. The group helps Abed get rid of debt by impersonating various celebrities at a bar mitzvah.

Jon Hamm guest stars as a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent as Homer goes undercover to infiltrate Fat Tony's mob. Homer agrees to this in hopes of decreasing his sentence after being charged for bribery. Joe Mantegna returns as Fat Tony, and also voice his cousin Fit Tony.

Sabrina wants to be a Surrogate for a Gay couple. Jimmy is not too pleased.

Pierce and a few other Greendale students ingest a bio-hazard substance at the school Halloween Party, causing them to exhibit flu-like symptoms and they soon begin turning into zombies. It is up to the rest of the gang to save themselves and the school when Dean Pelton locks them in with the zombie-infected student body.

When Ryan fears his neighbor Spencer has been paying special attention to him lately, Wilfred, amidst talk of confrontation and dominance, confesses that he left Ryan’s wallet at Spencer’s house the night they broke into it. Ryan avoids a conflict when Spencer confronts him with the wallet, causing Spencer to want to hang out with Ryan, much to his dismay. Later, when a prank on Wilfred with a laser pointer causes the dog to attack their Indian neighbor, Ryan tries to bribe the animal control officer taking him to cut him loose, but he turns out to be Spencer's ex-best friend, Jesse. Wilfred is taken to be put down, and Ryan takes Spencer to the pound, leaving him to talk to Jesse. After Ryan gets the two men to mend fences, Jesse gives Wilfred back. Thinking its over, Ryan returns home, only to find Jesse and Spencer in his house making plans for the three of them. Ryan snaps and confesses to everything to Spencer, causing him to assault Ryan. Wilfred hits Spencer with a bone, knocking him unconscious, and Ryan, coached by Wilfred, gets Jesse to take Spencer out of Ryan's house, never to return. Charlie and Hurley attempt to get Desmond drunk so he will explain to them how he is able to see the future. An extended flashback reveals what happened to Desmond after the implosion of the hatch. Desmond relives a day of his life with Penny before coming to the island. He finds himself on the island again with the ability to see flashes of the future, most notably Charlie's approaching death.

Spence's new girlfriend Becky, is a culinary student. Doug has agreed to be a food tester for Becky's culinary creations. Carrie is jealous of their relationship, and insists that Doug end his food affair with Becky.

In the hopes he can pick up a new client, Marty begrudgingly attends Doug's weekly Dungeons and Dragons game; Jeannie is slammed with sexual harassment allegations, which may affect her role as CFO.

After a brief stint in jail, Ricky, Julian and Bubbles make a return to Sunnyvale Trailer Park in style. Unfortunately, while the Boys were incarcerated, Trevor and Cory have lost the park-buying fund, and Lahey and Randy have bought Julian's trailer with crime proceeds.

Joy's pregnancy with Earl Jr. makes Earl reflect on his marriage between him and Joy, and the conflicts between himself and Joy cheating on him with Darnell. And how his father helped him do his first good deed ever.

Much to Eric and Ari's dismay, Vince jeopardizes his career with a risque online video, a post on his Twitter page, and the news that he's dating a porn star. Turtle gets freaked out during a night with Alex. A changed Billy Walsh asks Eric for help in restarting his career, and while Eric is uncertain about working with Billy, he presents an intriguing idea for Drama, who's been in a funk. Ari finds his NFL deal in jeopardy when he realizes that Lizzie - with Amanda's help - could sue him for wrongful termination, among other things.

The Halloween episode focuses on the events of Halloween at the office. Michael struggles with making the decision of whom to fire. Meanwhile, Jim and Pam post Dwight's resume on the internet.

Brian gives Stewie herpes, while Peter and the guys fight to reclaim their favorite booth at the Drunken Clam from another group.

Peter's devoutly religious, recently retired father Francis comes to visit, though he is intolerant of the others and makes life miserable for them; nevertheless, Peter tries to bond with him, since he had always been neglectful of his son. When all else fails, Peter resorts to kidnapping the Pope by taking the place of his regular driver to settle their conflict. He then brings the Pope back to his house, where His Holiness attempts to mediate his problems. Afterwards, Peter reconciles with Francis, who is hired for the job of working as the Pope's security guard during his tour of the United States, pushing down people who are not allowed to be near the Pope and those who are allowed to be near the Pope, but are in his way, including Fox personnel, much to the Pope's dismay. At the end of the episode, Peter's mom shows up at the door and wishes to live with the family, prompting them to flee the house in an escape pod.

To pay off a debt, Rallo and Cleveland Jr. become "dog bounty hunters" tracking down lost pooches to return them to their owners for reward money. Meanwhile, Cleveland is furious when Donna's ex-husband, Robert, crashes Freight Train's birthday party and upstages Cleveland's gift for his dad.

Peter knocks out Quahog's cable transmitter while driving Meg home. Distraught, Peter resolves to steal the transmitter so he can have television in his house and convinces Meg to take the blame for the outage. The device is stolen by Stewie, who intends to use it to control the weather. Peter attaches a cardboard cutout in front of his face to pretend that the world is a television program. Meg, tired of public scorn, reveals the truth behind the cable outage; the citizens of Quahog threaten Peter with violence, but he is saved by Lois. Peter takes his family on recreational outings, but the family grows tired of the constant physical activity, prompting Peter to go on the outings with William Shatner. After the weather machine creates a huge rainstorm, Meg and Lois drive around searching for Peter, and Meg runs over Shatner and Peter; Peter is hospitalized. Peter watches television while he recovers, and becomes addicted to it once again.

Chief Reilly faces the consequences of his altercation with an openly gay fireman; Tommy faces the repercussions of a prank.

Don continues to conceal his increasingly complicated personal life, even in the face of Roger Sterling's invitation to open up. Meanwhile, Peggy pines for the absent Pete-still on his honeymoon-while fending off the advances of several of the men of Sterling Cooper.

Mitchell feels pressured to make Cameron's birthday extra special; people start to question Jay's manliness; the girls interfere with Phil's leap day plans.

A new student named Allison Taylor arrives at Springfield Elementary School and proves to be more than a match for Lisa in both educational and musical feats. After Allison wins first chair saxophone in the school orchestra ahead of her, Lisa vows to defeat Allison at something: by winning the school diorama contest. Meanwhile, Homer steals 100 pounds of sugar from an overturned truck and decides to sell it to the town. However, despite his best efforts to guard his sugar mound, a rainstorm dissolves it. At the contest, Bart switches Allison's diorama of The Tell-Tale Heart with a cow's heart to help Lisa win. Lisa's guilt at the plan forces her to give Allison's real model back. The pair set aside their differences and become friends. Principal Skinner decides that neither Allison nor Lisa's entry deserves to win, awarding victory to Ralph Wiggum.

J.D. gets called in to work on his day off, but the only thing he wants to do is get home. Meanwhile Elliot tries to convince everyone she is an expert on endocrinology following her brief fellowship, Carla has doubts over being a parent, and Turk has to wrestle over an issue that will either help his career or break his conscience.

Ray finds out about Bridget's relationship with Marvin and forbids her from seeing him, but she visits him anyway, leading to emotional upset. Meanwhile, Ray flies to Boston to search for Bostonian mobster, Sully. Abby and Deb enjoy themselves too much, which turns into trouble. Mickey makes Sean let him work on a movie project.

Efficiency-obsessed Captain Seth Dozerman (Bill Hader) arrives as the new captain. Jake and Amy explore the repercussions of revealing their feelings at the end of the previous season. Cpt Holt & Gina start work at the PR dept and get forced into trivial matters by Chief Wuntch.

Ted and Barney go to a club to pick up women, while Lily and Marshall, in an attempt to be grown-ups, host a dinner party at the apartment for a group of couples.

Pam trains a temporary worker to take her place while she is on maternity leave, and enlists Dwight's support when she tries to show that Jim finds her replacement attractive. Meanwhile, Robert surprises Andy, Kevin, and Darryl when he asks to join their band.

A documentary crew films the activities of the workers in a nursing home. Derek, a 49 year old worker who loves his job and the people he cares for, introduces the crew to some of the workers and residents. Hannah, who runs the nursing home, is interviewed on how she got to where she is, and her relationship history. Derek and Hannah walk around outside in a grassy field and around a pond. Derek, thinking he sees a spider, gets scared and falls into the pond. Hannah attempts to get Derek to find out discreetly if Tom (in whom she is interested, and who is a relation of a resident) is gay, but the plan backfires. Hannah takes Derek to the pub, where three nearby women make fun of Derek's looks. Hannah and Derek leave, but not before Hannah headbutts one of the women. Later in the day, one of the residents dies, which greatly upsets Derek. After a memorial service, Hannah and Tom leave for a pub.

Lois cooks a big Thanksgiving dinner, and Kevin Swanson, originally presumed to be dead in Iraq, suddenly returns.

George can not afford to buy herself a new bicycle she wants, so she gets a new job. Immediately, Delores and the other unconventional co-workers at her old job at Happy Time begin planning a farewell party. Meanwhile, Mason mingles with a gay couple that he's assigned to reap, and Daisy is stalked by the soul of a passionate painter. Soon, all of the reapers begin to realize just how important a part they play in people's lives. Mason then offers both George and Daisy his house for both of them to live in as a act of kindness. At the Lass household, Joy loses Reggie's dog when it runs off which causes the tensions among the insecure family to further escalate.

Marge begins making changes to herself after discovering she has gray hair. Meanwhile, Moe attends a seminar in hopes of getting more confidence.

While working on a geneology assignment, Lisa discovers a diary written by her ancestor, Eliza Simpson. She reads it, hoping to discover an Simpson in her family tree that was not an alcoholic or criminal. She discovers through reading the diary that Eliza and her mother Mabel were part of the underground railroad. Eliza sneaks into a ball hosted by Colonel Burns to meet a slave named Virgil, but as the two make their escape, they are spotted by a mounted patrol. Unfortunately, the diary is too disintegrated for Lisa to read on, and she cannot bear not knowing if Virgil escaped. Lisa and Marge discover a cookbook at the local library written by Mabel. In it is an anecdote that tells how Eliza and Virgil evaded capture by donning disguises at a traveling circus. They make it back to the Simpson household, but Eliza's father Hiram is suspicious of Virgil's presence. Virgil makes him 'wheel cakes' and Hiram swears to keep Virgil's whereabouts a secret. Lisa believes Eliza to be a hero for helping Virgil escape, and tells this story at a Black History Month presentation at Springfield Elementary. Milhouse, however, challenges her story and suggests that Eliza was a coward. He reads from the journal of his ancestor, Milford Van Houten, who witnessed Colonel Burns bribe Hiram with a new pair of shoes in exchange for giving up Virgil. Eliza does not stand up against the Colonel and Lisa is crushed to think her ancestor was a coward. Homer convinces Grandpa Simpson to tell the rest of story to raise Lisa's spirits. He tells of how Mabel threatened to castrate the Colonel with a shotgun and then escaped with Virgil to Canada. There, she divorced Hiram and married Virgil. Grandpa reveals that Virgil and Mabel's son was his great-grandfather, and therefore the Simpsons are 1/64 African American. When questioned why he kept this secret, he notes that his generation was racist. Marge notes that her father was French, to which Homer attributes his own drinking.

Don is tormented as pieces of his secretive past begin to haunt him. Peggy's new success at work, and resulting boost in confidence, threaten her office relationships. Salvatore Romano gets a little too close with a client.

Locke returns to the Others and Ben begrudgingly takes Locke to meet the Others' mysterious leader Jacob. Locke is unable to see Jacob, but can hear him, and because of this Ben shoots Locke and leaves him for dead. The survivors' mistrust of Jack peaks when Juliet is exposed as a mole; however, Juliet in turn reveals that she has been working with Jack against the Others. Flashbacks show when Ben first came to the island as a boy as part of the Dharma Initiative. Ben conspires with the Others (at least one of whom, Richard Alpert, does not age in the next thirty years) and kills most of Dharma.

Frankie and Sue are cast in a community production of "The Wizard of Oz." Meanwhile, Brick asks his Uncle Rusty (Norm Macdonald) to attend "Special Friends Day" at school.

House systematically begins eliminating his new team candidates, until he is approached by a fighter pilot named Greta, a candidate for NASA's astronaut training program. Greta suffers from a neurological disorder, where she converts sounds to visual images. Knowing NASA will reject any possibility of her becoming an astronaut if they knew of her problem, Greta begs House to treat her in secret. Meanwhile, House is ruffled when he thinks he sees Cameron, Chase and Foreman in the hospital hallways.

A visit to Brown University (Brian's alma mater) shows that Meg does not have enough extracurricular activities to be admitted, so Meg decides to write for her high school's paper. Meg's first story is an interview with Mayor West and his money-wasting investigation on water "theft". Mayor West shows Meg how the drain to his sink and his potted plants are stealing his water. Peter doesn't think that story will grab attention, so he replaces it with a story claiming Luke Perry is gay. When Perry reads this article, he files a lawsuit against the Griffins for libel. Meg is deeply upset, but Peter, feeling responsible, promises to make it up to her. Trying to get Meg out of the suit, Peter tries to stage a photo of Perry acting gay through seduction, thus making the article seem valid, but Perry doesn't respond to his sexual antics (other than throwing up at the point of seeing Peter's buttocks). He finally confesses to Perry about what he did, who decides to drop all charges with the condition that Meg gets to interview him for a new article. Later, Peter gives Perry a copy of the revised article. Perry rushes back to bed with Mayor West who says he will have sex with Perry only if he would stop stealing his water. Perry agrees, although he has no idea what Mayor West is talking about. Meanwhile, frustrated with his short size, Stewie puts a mind control device on Chris to make him do his bidding, especially trying to kill Lois. The plan backfires when the device is shorted out by the microwave oven, causing Chris to turn on Stewie, though Stewie manages to evade him.

Meg becomes a model for the foot fetish industry and Stewie decides to experience life outside of preschool.

Grampa meets a human interest journalist who writes and publishes Grampa's life stories making Homer jealous. While giving his story of Mr. Burns to the newspaper, Homer finds out the journalist is plotting to kill Grandpa. Meanwhile, Bart is forced to care for a stuffed lamb as part of a class project and gives the lamb to Lisa.

Carrie (Claire Danes) is called to testify before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence 58 days after the attack on the CIA headquarters. Senator Lockhart (Tracy Letts) reveals a memo that offered Brody (Damian Lewis) immunity for his help in killing or capturing Nazir. Carrie indicates that she doesn't believe Brody is guilty or knew the bomb was in his car.[1] The next day Lockhart questions where Carrie was the 14 hours after the attack when her statement claimed she was unconscious. Carrie invokes the Fifth Amendment. Dana (Morgan Saylor) concludes a month-long stay in the hospital after having slit her wrists in the bathtub. Jessica Brody (Morena Baccarin) struggles financially and begins interviewing for jobs. Carrie's father finds out that she has stopped taking lithium. Mira (Sarita Choudhury) returns from Mumbai, but she and Saul sleep in separate bedrooms and the status of their relationship remains unclear. The attack on Langley left a crater and the death toll is revealed to be 219. The Iranian mastermind of the attack, Majid Javadi, "The Magician", hasn't been seen in public since 1994. Six other members of the network that planned and carried out the attack on Langley have been identified and located by the CIA. After weighing his options, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) eventually orders their simultaneous assassination. Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) is in Caracas, Venezuela, where he decides not to place a bomb on his target's car upon seeing a boy in the back seat. He is given the order to attempt to kill his target (Codenamed "Tin Man") by infiltrating his compound. Quinn kills his target by shooting but accidentally kills the boy as well. Elsewhere in the world, the other five targets are taken out. Carrie meets a man while buying alcohol at a convenience store, and she sleeps with him that night.
