Stuart and Snowbell set out across town to rescue a friend.

A foster couple (Joan Cusack and Peter Strauss) call Detectives Benson and Stabler when their recently adopted foster child Mackenzie (Bailee Madison) runs away from home. It's discovered that she ran away to meet with a man named Erik Weber (Henry Ian Cusick), whom she met on the Internet and whom Benson and Stabler suspect of ulterior motives regarding the girl. Weber denies any wrongdoing, and also expresses romantic interest in Benson.

The gang share a strange Halloween, complete with comic spoofs of several Alfred Hitchcock movies, including Psycho, The Birds, Rear Window, Vertigo, and North by Northwest. Eric has vertigo after falling off the garage roof, Fez and Hyde spy on the Pinciotti's, thinking Bob killed Midge, while Donna wants to prove Eric she's not boring. Meanwhile, Kitty and Laurie have a hard time feeding a neighbor's birds and a paperboy whom Red forgot to pay mistakes Kelso for someone in the Forman family and stalks him.

In the episode, Marge's sister Selma is looking for a husband, so Marge orders Homer to help her find one. Things go wrong, however, when Homer invites Principal Skinner over for dinner and Skinner instead falls for Selma's twin sister Patty.

Season 8 starts out with Gregory House serving out a prison term for his various misdeeds in "Moving On". However, despite falling so far, all is not lost as House falls for a beautiful doctor in the prison. After being attacked early in the episode, House will be assigned a new cell mate, played by Jaleel White, who will begin showing him the ropes.
