Captain America II: Death Too Soon is a 1979 television film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, directed by Ivan Nagy and starring Reb Brown. The film was preceded by Captain America earlier the same year. It was aired on CBS in two one-hour slots. The first part aired on November 23, 1979 and the second aired the next night, leading into the conclusion of Salem's Lot.

A woman is leaving a Dunkin' Donuts when her dog gets loose and runs toward a construction site. The woman screams for someone to help her, as her dog runs faster away from her, into the construction area. A construction worker, sipping on his Dunkin' Donuts Captain America Cherry Coolatta, sees the woman in distress and sets out to catch her dog. Bailey, the dog, jumps over a cord, causing an electric nail gun to start firing off nails. The construction worker slides down a ladder to the ground, grabs a metal trash can lid, using it as a shield against the flying nails. He throws the trash can lid, slicing the cord to the nail gun in half. Bailey, the dog, runs up the scaffolding ramps, as the construction worker follows close behind. As Bailey runs across the edge of the building, a can of blue paint is tipped over, covering the construction worker with the paint. He takes his safety glasses off, and now has an outline of blue paint around his eyes - like a mask. The construction worker breaks through a wall, chasing the dog and takes a flying leap, grabbing the end of Bailey's leash. He captures the runaway dog, and rides down to the ground, with the dog, returning it to the frantic woman. She thanks him, telling him he's her hero. The construction worker picks up the trash can lid, and looks like Captain America. A brief clip from the Captain America: The First Avenger trailer is shown at the end of the commercial. Bailey! In 1946, Peggy Carter, mourning the apparent death of her lover Steve Rogers, returns to work for the Strategic Science Reserve in New York City. The S.S.R. investigates industrialist Howard Stark, who has disappeared, for apparently selling weapons to US enemies. Stark secretly reaches out to Carter, and asks her to help him clear his name. Before he leaves, he tells her about his formula for molecular nitramene that is going to be sold at a club. Infiltrating the club in disguise, Carter learns that the formula has been weaponized. Carter shows a nitramene bomb to Stark Industries scientist Anton Vanko, who deduces that it came from a Roxxon Oil refinery. Carter and Stark's butler, Edwin Jarvis, investigate the refinery, where they encounter Leet Brannis. Brannis, who works for "Leviathan", escapes with a truck full of the nitramene weapons. Before leaving, Brannis drops a weapon that destroys the entire building as Carter and Jarvis escape.

In the wake of Fisk's public revelation, Ben, Foggy, and Karen begin to think about how to uncover his past, while Matt continues to insist they go through the legal system. Matt tracks down Vanessa at her art gallery, hoping to gain insight into Fisk by speaking with her, and encounters Fisk himself. The firm's client, Elena Cardenas, is killed by a junkie hired by Fisk's men. Meanwhile, Nobu demands a promised city block from Fisk, who agrees on the condition Nobu provide him with a "specialist" in return to deal with the vigilante, which turns out to be Nobu himself. Fisk makes a public speech designed to lure the vigilante out. Enraged by Elena's death, Matt goes to an abandoned warehouse where he believes he will find Fisk. Instead, he is confronted by Nobu. Matt eventually wins, though not before Nobu manages to severely injure him. Fisk confronts the injured Matt, beating him nearly to death. Matt barely escapes, only to collapse at his home in front of Foggy.

The series features the Marvel Comics character Peggy Carter, with Hayley Atwell reprising her role from the film series, as she must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark while trying to navigate life as a single woman in 1940s America.
