101 Dalmatians is a 1996 live-action film produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a remake of the 1961 animated film of the same name. Roger Dearly is an American computer game designer sharing his home with his pet Dalmatian, Pongo. One day Roger takes Pongo for a walk, and the dog sets his eyes on a beautiful female Dalmatian named Perdy. After a frantic chase through the streets of London, Roger and Pongo discover Perdy likes Pongo; and Perdy's owner, fashion designer Anita Campbell-Green, is taken with Roger. Romance blossoms between both human and canine couples and Roger and Anita walk down the aisle. Anita works for Cruella de Vil, a fashion maven with a great love for cigarettes and fur. Anita becomes inspired by her dogs and creates a fur coat made with spotted fur, causing Cruella to leap on the idea of making garments out of actual Dalmatians. When Cruella learns that Perdy has given birth to fifteen Dalmatian puppies she offers the couple a decent price for the newborn puppies, but the couple refuses. Flying into a maniacal rage, she fires Anita and vows to get even. She has her henchmen, Jasper and Horace, steal the puppies and deliver them to her ancient estate, De Vil Manor. With the help of the other dogs and animals scattered throughout London, the puppies manage to outwit Jasper and Horace and escape to a farm where their parents have been called to wait. But shortly after, Cruella shows up and tries to retrieve them; she ends up having a pig sit on her and fart in her face, after which she falls into a vat of molasses by raccoons and is kicked into a pig pen by a horse. All of the Dalmatians get home by the Metropolitan Police Service, who then arrest Cruella and her henchmen. The family adopts the other Dalmatians Cruella stole, bringing the total to 101.

After three years in prison, Cruella de Vil has been cured of her lust for fur coats by Dr. Pavlov and is released on parole. Cruella, now 'Ella', rids herself of her old fur coats and the drawing of her in a Dalmatian puppy coat. However, soon Cruella begins to feel the urges and when she sees Dipstick and his puppies, she devises a plan to get the ultimate fur coat. She sends her servant Alonzo to find a few puppies as she hires Jean-Pierre LePelt to help her capture 102 puppies. The trio create a scheme to set-up Kevin Shepard, the owner of the animal shelter where Cruella spent her community service, as a scape-goat for the police to investigate so Cruella and company can get all the puppies she needs for her coat. However, Kevin soon escapes from prison to hear that Cruella and her henchmen are headed to Paris. But he is soon captured by Cruella and imprisoned in her house. Cruella forgot one dalmation, Oddball, because she was born without any spots. Oddball manages to rescue his family and all the other puppies kidnapped by Cruella. She also has Cruella and her two henchmen arrested thereby saving the day.

The film starts with Roger and Anita getting ready for moving. In the midst of all that happened, a young pup named Patch feels lost in "the sea of spots". Inspired by his TV hero Thunderbolt, Patch starts to act like he is a "one-of-a-kind dog".Patch begins to feel empty hearted and sleeps in the closet before the day of the moving. When he wakes up, he finds himself left alone, so he decides to hitch a ride on a Kanine Krunchies delivery truck where he ends up meeting Thunderbolt. During this time, the Dearlys are enjoying their new home they think is safe from Cruella De Vil. At the same time, Lil' Lightning, Thunderbolt's sidekick, fools Thunderbolt into leaving his career as a wonder dog. Believing him, Thunderbolt sets off. Near the gate where he stood to leave is Patch, who later joins him on reckless journeys across town to "save" London from "danger". Cruella has been banned from every single fur store now. She sets off and meets a painter named Lars. She finds out that he likes to paint spots, so she asks if he could draw a picture for her. Lars agrees and tries everything. Cruella realizes it is time to kidnap the puppies once again, to be Lars' inspiration. In jail, she re-recruits Horace and Jasper to kidnap the 101 dalmatians. The plan succeeds, leaving the new plantation where the Dearlys live abandoned. She comes back to Lars to reveal her secret plan. Lars rejects and gets caught, during this same moment, Patch and Thunderbolt arrive.

Cruella is a 2021 American crime comedy film based on the character Cruella de Vil from Dodie Smith's 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie with a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, from a story by Aline Brosh McKenna, Kelly Marcel, and Steve Zissis. It is the third live-action adaptation in the 101 Dalmatians franchise and serves as both a prequel and reboot. Emma Stone stars as the title character, with Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong in supporting roles. Set in London during the punk rock movement of the 1970s, the film revolves around Estella Miller, an aspiring fashion designer, as she explores the path that will lead her to become a notorious up and coming fashion designer known as Cruella de Vil.
