Homer goes out and rents a western movie to watch with his family on the VCR. However, the movie turns out to be a musical, which disgusts Homer. The family reminds Homer of the past times that he has sung and danced in enjoyment, and soon, the family is singing and dancing themselves. Snake enters the house through a window and threatens the family, but decides they would not be good hostages. The family sings once more, and later, Snake comes back, threatening to kill them for putting an annoying tune in his head, but realizes he is out of ammunition and leaves. The family continues to sing, until Snake returns to kill them, but the family tells him they are finished singing. The episode ends with Marge humming nearby the living room window, causing Snake to shoot through it.

In the episode, Marge revives her high school-era interest in painting by enrolling in an art class after getting encouraged by Lisa. When she wins first prize in a local art competition for a portrait of Homer on the couch in his underwear, Mr. Burns commissions her to paint a portrait of him. Meanwhile, Homer is determined to lose weight after becoming stuck in a water slide at an amusement park.

Lily and Marshall attempt to raise money to fix their apartment floor by selling Lily's designer clothes. Lily also discovers a hidden use for her art. When Abby is revealed to be Barney's relationship saboteur, they join forces in their mutual hatred of Ted.

Hot Fuzz is a film that tells the story of two police officers attempting to solve a series of mysterious deaths in a small village.

The film's theme song is by Roger Miller. It is a Blake Edwards production.
