Brian and Stewie go on an adventure to find and kill Santa Claus. They make their way to the North Pole in hopes of teaching him something about holiday cheer.

Michael says goodbye to the family business and starts his own. And the life of the family is turned upside down when their mailman Pete dies.

Peter becomes a mall Santa, and he becomes drunk with power when he learns that he can get away with anything. Meanwhile, Stewie and Brian crash Christmas parties for free food, drama, and women.

An unexplained suicide of a wealthy and powerful woman leads Dexter to suspect that her psychiatrist, Dr. Emmett Meridian, may have killed her. But he gets a shock when a visit to the suspect reveals dark secrets from Dexter's past. Elsewhere, Rita becomes warmer towards her ex-husband Paul, who claims to have reformed. She wants to become more intimate with Dexter, who is afraid of physically consummating their relationship. At the same time, Debra is falling in love with her new boyfriend.

The Springfield Nuclear Power Plant hires a new security guard named Wayne and Homer soon become friends with him. Wayne has to deal with his past work with the CIA in order to rescue Homer from a Ukranian terrorist. Meanwhile, Marge dreams of appearing on the reality series Top Chef. The voting results from "The Ned-liest Catch" will be revealed. Guest stars: Kiefer Sutherland and Tom Colicchio.

A visit from Leonard's mother, Dr. Beverly Hofstadter delights Sheldon and horrifies Leonard. Penny is upset because Leonard didn't mention his mother's visit to her, but that is nothing compared to when Leonard learns that Sheldon knows more about his own mother than Leonard does. Leonard learns about his parents' pending divorce, his mother's surgery, and the death of his dog all after Sheldon had known. Beverly questions Howard and Raj about what she views as their ersatz homosexual relationship (alluding to her last visit in The Maternal Capacitance). Penny and Beverly go out drinking, and when they get back to the apartment, a somewhat inebriated Beverly gives Sheldon a deep, long kiss, but by the end of the episode they agree to keep that a secret from Leonard.

The Grinch (also known as Dr. Seuss' The Grinch) is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated Christmas film produced by Illumination Entertainment. Based on the 1957 Dr. Seuss story How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, it is being directed by Peter Candeland and Yarrow Cheney, co-directed by Matthew O'Callaghan, written by Michael LeSieur and stars Benedict Cumberbatch. The film is scheduled to be released by Universal Pictures on November 9, 2018. The film will be given a Real D 3D and IMAX 3D release.
