The commercial begins with the same format as most Apple ads. They show the iPhone being held in someone's hand, and then being used. The person selects to view a photo album, and selects an image of a little girl with freckles (every freckle). They then show a video clip of the animated movie, Up with a nice shot of Carl's face (every wrinkle). Someone is then shown reading The New York Times with the screen zoomed in on the logo (ever letter), then someone reading an article and highlighting the word "beautiful" (every word). We then see them using Twitter (every Tweet), scrolling through their music (tune), and playing a video game (battle), and then watching a video clip of a little girl eating a huge slice of watermelon (memory). The narrator then explains the Retina display. This is the highest resolution phone screen ever. So every freckle, every wrinkle, every letter, every word, every Tweet, tune, battle, and memory looks more beautiful than ever before. The amazing Retina Display only on the iPhone 4. The New York Times ...kitchen, like most great innovations, it was disruptive. And how do you persuiade people to disrupt their lives? Not merely by ingratiation or sincerity, and not by being famous or beautiful.
