A look at the lives of Pete and Debbie a few years after the events of Knocked Up.

Mark Wahlberg plays John, a perfectly normal Boston native whose childhood wish for his teddy bear to come to life comes true. The bear (Ted) - voiced by MacFarlane himself - remains his best friend well into his adult years. Conflict emerges when Ted's irresponsible and vulgar slacker lifestyle comes in the way of John's attempt to embrace his adulthood and the woman of his dreams, Lori (Mila Kunis).

The film begins with a voiceover from David, commenting that, whenever he gets gloomy with the state of the world, he thinks about the arrivals terminal at Heathrow Airport, and the pure, uncomplicated love felt as friends and families welcome their arriving loved ones. David's voiceover also relates that all the known messages left by the people who died on the 9/11 planes were messages of love and not hate. The film then tells the "love" story of many people, culminating in a final scene at the airport enacted to the tune of The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows", that closes their stories. The film ends with a montage of anonymous persons greeting their arriving loved ones that slowly enlarges and fills the screen, eventually forming the shape of a heart.

Advised by a doctor that a harmonious household would be good for the child, Serena shows increased care for Offred, giving her the sitting room as a bedroom and inviting some handmaids to have brunch with her. When Serena shows Offred the nursery for the baby, Offred asks to see Hannah, upon which Serena moves her back to her previous room, and sets about humiliating her. Eden reveals to Offred that she fears Nick may be a "gender traitor" due to his reluctance to have sex with her, so Offred warns him and he has sex with Eden to avoid suspicion, but only after he tells Offred that he loves her. Fred visits Offred in secret and gives her a photograph of Hannah, and wants to have sex with her, but Offred refuses. At the opening of the Rachel and Leah Center, a construction and ceremony overseen by Waterford, Nick asks Commander Pryce to be reassigned, and that Offred be protected, to which he agrees. Ofglen runs toward the stage, and detonates a bomb: only Handmaids are seen to have escaped. Flashbacks show Serena being verbally attacked while promoting her book A Woman's Place , and being shot by a protester, and Fred's punishment of those he believes to have been involved.

While trying to find out more about what led Watson to leave her old job, Holmes begins to suspect that there's something fishy about patients at the hospital supposedly dying of natural causes, leading to an elusive Angel of Death.

Denise begins to worry about Frank when he returns back from Africa. Ever since they left Rachel Miller and the Narubian children, Frank has been having nightmares. Jackie feels overwhelmed and alone with all of her army duties and keeps taking pills, concerning Denise. Roxy and Trevor help Gloria and Hector manage their finances when the two run into money issues. Roxy also hires Gloria as a barista at The Hump Bar. Tanya bumps heads with Dr. Hanson after their kiss in Africa. After she confronts him, the two have sex and agree to stay away from each afterwards, because fraternizing among ranks is forbidden. Meanwhile, Roland and Joan invite Charlie and Nicole over for dinner. Nicole is skeptical about sharing a meal with the garrison commander, but the dinner goes extremely well. Afterwards, Nicole proposes to Charlie. At the end of the episode, the news shows Rachel Miller accusing the army of wrongdoing after they refused to take in the children.

After Walt's car bombing plan fails, Jesse is brought in for questioning by detectives because of his remark that Brock may have been poisoned by ricin. Walt pays a hefty bribe to Saul's secretary to get in touch with Saul, and with Jesse's help they realize that Gus may be vulnerable if he visits Hector at the nursing home. Walt visits Hector and offers him a chance for revenge against Fring: "I know that you despise me, but I'll bet that I know someone you hate even more." Hector then requests a meeting at the DEA office, but tells them nothing; he only crudely insults Hank. Tyrus has been tailing Hank and sees Hector leave the DEA office, and informs Gus. Jesse is released after no ricin is found in Brock's bloodwork. As he leaves the police station, Jesse is kidnapped. Tyrus visits Hector's room and sweeps it for any bugs; he informs Gus that it's clean. Gus arrives and berates Hector for speaking to the DEA, calling him a "crippled rata" and prepares to kill him. Hector finally looks him in the eye and then rings his bell, detonating a bomb that he has allowed Walt to plant in his wheelchair. The door is blown off of the room and Gus walks out into the hall and straightens his tie, apparently unharmed. The camera angle changes, revealing that Gus has been mortally injured, the entire right side of his face having been blown off. Gus falls to the floor, dead. Jesse is working at the lab under duress and under guard, when Walt arrives and executes Jesse's two captors. Walt and Jesse then flood the lab with chemicals and set it ablaze, wiping their fingerprints off the door as they leave. Later, Walt meets Jesse at the hospital parking garage, and Jesse tells him Brock's going to pull through and was poisoned by a Lily of the Valley plant, not ricin. When Jesse leaves, Walt calls Skyler, who's watching coverage of the nursing home bombing on the news. She asks, "Was this you?" Walt replies, "It's over. We're safe. I won." As he leaves the parking garage, he smiles at Gus's car, still parked there. In the final scene, on the deck of Walt's swimming pool, the camera slowly zooms in on a potted plant-a Lily of the Valley.

Adam and Kristina get a diagnosis confirming Max's Asperger syndrome. Sarah interviews for a graphic design job with a little help from her brother and father. Amber is told that she is being held back in the tenth grade as her transcripts from her former school in Fresno are unsatisfactory for her new school. Crosby spends time with his son but still doesn't know how to tell Katie that he already has a child. Julia is frustrated with a fellow mother from Sydney's school and tensions come to a head at the school's fund raising auction.

The team treats a famous blogger, but finds her difficult to treat when she insists on discussing all procedures and doctors on her blog. Meanwhile, House and Wilson learn secrets about each other and go speed dating along with Chase.

Jack begins to bond with Milton and seeks a way to help him get the kidney he needs. Meanwhile, people start seeking Liz out as a relationship expert as a result of the "That's a Dealbreaker" sketches, and Kenneth helps Tracy deal with his embarrassment over not finishing high school.

When a mother of five loses four of her sons to gang violence, Lilly's mission to save the youngest son causes her to reopen her first ever homicide case from 1999. Patrick sees his four brothers at the school yard. Lilly sees her first partner in the mirror behind the bar at Joe's, although he is not deceased, as he is viewed as a "ghost from the past".

Ruth sets ground rules for a new live-in apprentice Arthur; Brenda returns to apologize to Nate; David encounters a face from his past.
