The film begins with a voiceover from David, commenting that, whenever he gets gloomy with the state of the world, he thinks about the arrivals terminal at Heathrow Airport, and the pure, uncomplicated love felt as friends and families welcome their arriving loved ones. David's voiceover also relates that all the known messages left by the people who died on the 9/11 planes were messages of love and not hate. The film then tells the "love" story of many people, culminating in a final scene at the airport enacted to the tune of The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows", that closes their stories. The film ends with a montage of anonymous persons greeting their arriving loved ones that slowly enlarges and fills the screen, eventually forming the shape of a heart.

Almost Famous is a 2000 comedy-drama that follows the fictional story of a 15-year-old journalist writing for Rolling Stone magazine while covering the band Stillwater, and his efforts to get his first cover story published. The film is semi-autobiographical, as Crowe himself was a teenage writer for Rolling Stone. The film flashes back and forth between the 1970s and 1980s and centers on the relationship between Fielding Pierce, a young Coast Guard officer with political ambitions, and idealistic Roman Catholic Sarah Williams, who is drawn to programs designed to better the lives of the underprivileged and has mixed feelings about his career goals.

Practical Magic is a 1998 family fantasy film about two witches who carry on a family legacy of witchcraft and tragedy.

Nina, an interpreter, is beside herself with grief at the recent death of her boyfriend, Jamie, a cellist. When it appears that she is no longer able to cope with life, Jamie reappears as a "ghost" and the couple are reconciled - either in Nina's imagination or in an actual reunion: it is up to the viewer to decide. Nina is of course ecstatic, but Jamie's behavior - turning up the central heating to stifling levels, moving furniture around and inviting back "ghost friends" to watch videos - gradually infuriates her, and their relationship deteriorates. Although happy and able to return to a somewhat normal state, Nina's relationship with Jamie is put under strain by his erratic behavior. She meets Mark, a psychologist, to whom she is attracted, but she is unwilling to become involved with him because of Jamie's continued presence. Over Nina's objections, Jamie decides to leave to allow her to move on.

After Peter finds Jesus at the mall, he is shocked to learn that Jesus has never had sex. Determined to change this, Peter enlists the help of Cleveland, Joe and Quagmire so Jesus can lose his virginity for his 2,000th birthday.

Hank reviews Becca's draft of her writing project and tries to give advice to her. Hank royally screws up and it does not go over well. Karen, after hearing what happened, tells Hank that Becca has now changed her mind about writing and is thinking of going to law school. Hank finishes the musical script for Atticus only to find that Atticus doesn't like it, and neither does Stu nor Charlie. Hank doesn't take the criticism well and he decides to meet up with Faith for encouragement. Meanwhile, Charlie and Stu join forces when they believe that Marcy is being brainwashed by Ophelia's influence. The three of them meet up at a bar but things do not go well when Ophelia shows up making disparaging remarks. Things go south when Ophelia uses her taser on both Charlie and Stu, however, Marcy is put off by Ophelia's behavior. Hank meets up with Becca again and apologizes for his earlier remarks and fully encourages her to pursue a career in writing.

Jess, still heartbroken over her breakup with Russell, spends the night with Paul, who later reveals that he has a girlfriend. Nick, who is now back together with Caroline, decides to move in with her. Cece introduces Schmidt to her grandmother and Winston gets his ear pierced during a wild night out with his boss.

After Earl and Randy attempt to make amends with a former drug addict, Earl decides to join him for a week at a commune and then tries to prevent global warming from spreading. Randy accidentally eats some medicine which causes him to see everything animated. Earl thinks this is him agreeing with Earl who is confused about this lifestyle at Commune.

A Jewish funeral leads Nate to question the Jewish point of view on death with the female Rabbi; Claire visits Aunt Sarah; David begins seeing Keith again.
