This commercial for JCPenney is a letter, to Americans, from JCP. It begins with a view of someone's feet, in bed, in the early morning hours. A dog rests near the front door. Two young girls sit on the couch, watching cartoons and holding hands. A couple sits on an empty bus, leaning on each other as the sun is low in the sky, a bright orange, in the background. A bicyclist rides across a bridge, heading toward the city, in the early morning hours. A woman crosses a street in white pants, pink blazer. Two young kids wearing backpacks, walk along a sidewalk. Young women get ready in a bathroom, applying makeup, styling their hair with curling irons. A group of girls, in formal wear, do the Charlie's Angels pose for a photo. A mother holds her little girl on her lap, giggling together, rubbing noses. Two little girls are swimming in a pool, going underwater and emerging, as they swim toward the end of the pool lane. Off to the side is another little girl. Not quite ready to let go of her mother. A new dad holds his baby on his shoulder, comforting him. The mom and girl in the pool are making progress, the little girl on her stomach learning to kick her legs. A football teams sits on the bench, while it pours rain. Three boys with skateboards sit outside, while one rides down a ramp. A family has an outdoor dinner at a picnic table in the back yard. A boy swings from a rope in a tree, letting go once the rope swings over the water of a lake. A young boy, playing league baseball, is at bat, swinging and hitting the ball. Bubble baths, kitchen helpers, dancing, dancing on the beach, fireworks, returning military serviceman, a boy in an astronaut outfit in a front yard, a dog running full speed down the sidewalk.
