The film picks up where the series left off, chronicling the continuing career of movie star Vincent Chase and his entourage of friends. Ari bankrolls Vince's directorial debut with a $100 million budget which goes $15 million over. He does this by securing financing from a Texas billionaire Larsen McCredle and his son Travis. Vince continues his carefree lifestyle saying if the film fails they can just move back to Queens. Now with his own studio Ari deals with the problems of being a start up movie producer in his own ill tempered way.

The title refers to the Southland, a name used by locals to refer to Southern California and Greater Los Angeles. Set in the then near future of an alternate history, the film is a portrait of Los Angeles and a comment on the military-industrial news-tainment complex.

Frank Pierce, is a paramedic working the graveyard shift in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, a neighborhood in New York City, during the early-1990s. Complaining of burn out, Pierce suffers from insomnia and begins having visions of a young girl named Rose who died while under his care. Once called Father Frank for his ability to save lives, Pierce starts to fear that he will soon face another life he cannot save, and begins attempting to get fired as his visions of Rose become more frequent. Soon, Pierce bonds with Mary, the daughter of a heart-attack victim whom he had previously saved, and who visits the father regularly at the hospital. Mary talks to Frank about her compassion toward helping others, which is shown contrasting Frank's feelings of burnout. It is through Mary that Frank is able to reconcile his feelings about Rose, and in the end, sleep.

Gift is a 1993 experimental docudrama made by Perry Farrell and Perry's then-girlfriend, Casey Niccoli.[1][2] The film prominently features Farrell's band, "Jane's Addiction". The majority of filming took place during the recording sessions of Ritual de lo Habitual, in 1990.

In a military quarantine cell, Strand torments Doug, who breaks down and is removed by guardsmen. Liza helps Dr. Exner with patients at the hospital. Ofelia hurls debris at the Safe Zone gate in protest that soldiers took Griselda. Adams calms her and takes her home. Chris is devastated that Liza left voluntarily to help at the hospital, but Travis promises to bring her back. Looking for Alicia, Madison enters the Trans' basement and discovers Adams being detained there by Daniel, who tortures him for information. Alicia and Chris get drunk in and vandalize a mansion. Strand bribes a guardsman to save a feverish Nick and recruits Nick for an escape plot. Travis convinces Moyers' squad to take him to the hospital to check on the people they took. While en route, Moyers encourages Travis to shoot a zombie, but Travis cannot bring himself to do it. The soldiers then stop to assist another squad in a building infested by zombies, but the attack goes poorly, and Moyers is presumably killed. The few survivors flee and drop off Travis near the Safe Zone. Travis learns that Daniel tortured Adams into revealing what the military codeword "Cobalt" means: in the morning, all civilians will be killed, and the guardsmen will evacuate the city. Griselda dies of septic shock at the hospital, and Liza shoots her brain to prevent reanimation. Daniel visits a nearby sports arena to verify Adams' story that it was sealed with 2,000 now-zombified civilians inside.

Jax strikes a new deal while ridding himself of old problems, Jax and Tig kill Pope and frame Clay for the murder, and Tara is arrested for conspiracy to commit murder.

Haley and Nathan clash over the decision to pull Jamie from his school. Mouth tries to mend fences with Millicent. Sam's friend Jack leaves to a foster home, which leads Victoria to comfort her.This episode is named after a song by Janes Addiction.

While Earl recovers in hospital, his wife Joy divorces him, and Earl is introduced to the concept of karma while watching an interview with singer Trace Adkins on Last Call with Carson Daly. He decides to try to make up for all the bad things he has done and makes a written list of 259 items. After leaving the hospital he starts on his list and right away he finds his lost $100,000 scratcher. Figuring karma works pretty well, he resolves to continue making up for items on the list. Meanwhile Earl and Randy meet their beautiful new maid, Catalina and Randy finds that he has feelings for her.

The Darkness II is a first-person shooter psychological horror video game with light role-playing elements developed by Digital Extremes and published by 2K Games.
