When a priest who runs a homeless shelter sees a bleeding Jesus hovering at his doorstep, he is admitted to the ER. House takes on the case as a distraction for the team while he confronts Foreman and Thirteen about their relationship. The team soon learns the priest had been involved in a molestation scandal that caused him to lose his faith. However, just as they are about to dismiss his case, the patient's condition takes a drastic turn for the worse, and House grapples with his past and his own personal beliefs.

Nate and Brenda prepare for a big day; Ruth is far from ecstatic on George's return home; David and Keith consider being parents.

Dr. Kelso starts an impromptu competition with the residents, offering an all-expenses-paid medical conference outing in Reno if they can bring him the most interesting case study. J.D. wants to compete, but fears he will fall out of favor with Dr. Cox if he does. The entire hospital takes advantage of Dr. Kelso's annual good mood the day after he renews "marital activities" with his wife Enid. Elliot worries that she and Carla aren't getting along.

Vanessa loses her job after being negligent; a lawsuit from a previous client turns out beneficial. Rabbi Ari recommends Nate and Brenda be honest with each other before moving forward with the marriage. Brenda hints two stoners from her street to follow her inside and initiates receiving anal sex from one while the other smokes weed.

The film takes place within a post-apocalyptic America, two months after a zombie apocalypse has been triggered when mad cow disease became "mad person disease" which became "mad zombie disease."

On January 8, Tom Hansen meets Summer Finn, the new assistant to his boss. Tom trained as an architect but works as a writer at a greeting card company, living in Los Angeles. Following a karaoke night, Tom's co-worker, McKenzie, lets slip that Tom is attracted to Summer. Over the next few months Summer and Tom grow closer, despite Summer making it clear to Tom that she does not believe in true love, and does not want a boyfriend.
