"Coca-Cola Jinx" This commercial features Democratic pundit James Carville on a talk show with Republican Senator and former Majority Leader Bill Frist. They are arguing with each other as usually, and at one point they both say, "They're just plain wrong" at exactly the same time. Frist turns and says "Jinx, buy me a Coke", and according to the sacred rules of "Jinx", James Carville is not allowed to speak again until he gets Frist a Coke. They go out on the street (during the middle of the talk show) and buy a bottle of Coca-Cola from a roadside stand. A double-decker tour bus comes along and since they were out for a friendly Coke anyway, they decide to tour Washington, D.C. together. They tour the Capitol building, the Jefferson Memorial, visit an art museum, take a Segway tour past the White House, get their charactertures drawn, and even go to a basketball game. Wherever they go, people give them curious looks because they are "enemies" but hanging out and having a good time together - all because of a bottle of Coke. They end a great day at the Lincoln Memorial while staring across at the Washington Monument. Host: Gentlemen, surely the point is... Carville: Oh, come on! Frist: Democrats have been spreading this... Carville: The Republicans are up to their old tricks. They're just... Both: They're just plain wrong. Frist: Jinx. Buy me a Coke. Carville: Right now? Frist: No talking. Jinx rules. How 'bout it? Carville: Why not? (Lyrics) Why don't we step outside And change our view We don't see eye to eye Sometimes it's true Good times would come around When we follow through Just for a share and a smile With a friend like you Bill Frist (Republican) James Carville (Democrat) The Coca-Cola side of life
