"McDonald's 40th Anniversary: Nervous First Date" A young couple are about to have their first date. The young boy waits on the sidewalk as his date is dropped off in a car by her mother. The young man is awkward in greeting his date - she leans in for a kiss, but he extends his hand for a handshake. The two kids sit on a park bench, awkwardly looking at each other. Next they go to a playground where the young man shows off with a basketball as the girl watches. They sit on swings at the playground before walking to a McDonald's. Their nerves seem to fade as they share a McDonald's meal together, laughing and looking a bit more relaxed over french fries. Homer becomes suspicious of Bart's new Muslim friend, Bashir, and decides to invite his family for dinner; having offended them, Homer goes to their home to apologize but discovers what he believes to be a terrorist plot to blow up the Springfield Mall. Homer immediately goes on a rampage through Springfield to warn the residents about the impending disaster. In the episode's subplot, Lisa gets her very own MyPod (a parody of iPod).

Jordan and Dr. Cox worry about Jack's slight cough and try to get him seen by the hospital's own pediatrician, Dr. Dave Norris, who is as obnoxious as Dr. Cox. The residents get their own interns and the inevitable problems that come with them: Turk is too heavy-handed, J.D. fails to assert his authority, and Elliot continues to deal with her own insecurities. J.D. reluctantly accepts help from Elliot's boyfriend/dolphin trainer Sean.

Ray and Debra hire a baby sitter, much to Marie's shock and disappointment. At first Ray and Debra think it's a good idea because they are able to spend more time with each other, but when the kids favor her more than Debra, Debra decides to give her up and leave the babysitting jobs to Marie.
