"Playin' With My Friends" This commercial features a little boy and girl preparing for a meal with their "friends". The friends happen to be a giant teddy bear, a wind-up robot, a monkey, a He-Man style character, a baby doll, and a Godzilla-like dragon/monster. All the giant toys are helping the kids prepare for the dinner. The teddy bear helps set the table and gets a stool out for one of the girls, the robot is able to pick up all the silverware by using a magnet to also help set the table, the monkey walks on its hands while carrying a serving bowl and also helps a girl get things out of the cupboards, and the He-Man character uses his giant axe to slice the bread. The robot later uses rays from his eyes to levitate a chair into place and light the candles, and the Godzilla monster uses its fire breath to cook some of the appetizers. In between working, the kids and toys take time to dance and jump on the couches, and the monkey does flips off the wall and cartwheels. At the end of the music video ad, we see what is going on in the mirror, and all the "toys" are actually these kids' parents or grandparents. I think this commercial would have worked better if the mirror showed that these were inanimate toys, and the kids were using their imaginations to pretend they could do all these fun things instead of apparently pretending that their parents were stuffed animals and action figures. The ad also features a bit of a plot hold as we see the toys as toys more than one mirror throughout the ad. If they were people at the end, they should have been people throughout... Either way, it's a fun ad.
