Former superhero Jack is called back to work to transform an unlikely group of ragtag kids into superheroes at a private Academy.

Shrek, a solitary ogre, finds a surprise when fairy tale creatures are sent to live in his swamp by the evil Lord Farquaad. Shrek befriends a talking Donkey, and the two set off to meet with Lord Farquaad. Lord Farquaad needs Princess Fiona to marry him so that he will become king. So when Shrek and Donkey visit him, they are forced to rescue her from an enormous fire-breathing dragon. The Dragon turns out to be a girl and she falls in love with Donkey. However Donkey escapes and Dragon chases them. Once Shrek and Donkey rescue Fiona they take her back to Lord Farquaad. However, along the way, Shrek falls in love with Fiona. Fiona reveals she is cursed and turns into an ogress at night. The only way the curse can be broken is by true love's first kiss. Fiona and Farquaad have a marriage ceremony; however they are interrupted by Shrek who tells Fiona he loves her. Shrek and Fiona kiss and Fiona turns into an ogress permanently. Shrek gets his swamp back, and the two marry there. After a karaoke party the two set off on their honeymoon. The film is set in a fairytale world, with appearances from commonly known fairytale characters.

Peter and Carter go to Africa to get their money back after they are swindled in an e-mail scam. Meanwhile, Brian pursues Meg's friend, Patty.

Liz becomes angry when no one seems to remember her 40th birthday on show night; Tracy decides to break character all night; Jack struggles with the consequences of his promises to not drinking during Avery's pregnancy.

The team investigates the 1999 death of a young man, a member of a prep school debate team, whose death had been considered a suicide. The victim is seen by his father at their apartment.

When new evidence is uncovered that relates to a shooting death near Atlantic City in 1997, the team reopens the murder of a hitchhiker on his way back to Philadelphia.

Danny asks Doug for a letter of recommendation at IPS because he wants a promotion to become a driver, just like Doug. Doug doesn't want his annoying cousin to work with him, so he tries to get out of writing the letter. Carrie thinks Doug is being ridiculous, so she decides to write the letter herself. Danny ends up getting the job, and puts Doug's driving skills to the test when he manages to do Doug's delivery route faster than Doug has ever been able to finish it.

Lisa tries to fit in with two college students by lying about her age. She finds that the college atmosphere is perfect for her, but her lie is soon discovered and she is shunned by her fellow elementary school students. Meanwhile, Bart is diagnosed with a weakened immune system after getting bitten by a Chinese mosquito and must live in a plastic, germ-free bubble.

This commercial shows several scenes of the old (original) Volkswagen Beetle (aka, Volkswagen Bug). One is a woman moving using just the tiny round car and everything is piled high on the roof. Next is a car chase where the Beetle is a police car, followed by a couple just after getting married and getting into the car with flowers and "Just Married" written on it. A cowboy drives one through the mud in his field to round up his cattle, and then we see a VW Bug pulling a school bus.
