Zola

District 9 is a movie about a group of refugee (extraterrestrial) aliens who are now stranded here on Earth. In addition to being a science fiction, action, and suspense movie, with amazing special effects the film also tackles such issues as discrimination. Being stranded in Africa, there are specific parallels to apartheid - in fact, the title of the movie is taken from District Six, an area of Cape Town, South Africa known for the forced removal of over 60,000 of its inhabitants during the 1970s.
