Rick asks Merle to help capture Michonne and deliver her to The Governor. Correctly predicting Rick won't have the stomach to carry out his decision, Merle captures Michonne and sneaks her out himself. On the way to Woodbury, Merle and Michonne discuss their situation, and Michonne gets Merle to reveal that while he'd killed 16 men while with the Governor, he never had killed anyone before. Michonne convinces Merle to release her. Merle leads a parade of walkers to the meeting place. As the walkers draw fire from Martinez's ambush party, Merle snipes them. After failing to kill The Governor when Ben accidentally takes the bullet for him, Merle is attacked by a walker and then captured by Martinez's men. Merle is attacked by The Governor, who bites off two of Merle's fingers and then shoots him. Meanwhile, Glenn and Maggie become engaged (after Glenn hacks a wedding ring off a walker). Rick confesses to the group, giving up sole leadership and saying they will have to vote on leaving the prison or stay and fight. Rick notices Michonne returning unharmed. Daryl arrives at the meeting place, where he finds Merle reanimated as a walker and, distraught, kills him.

Nursing-home worker Morgan fakes illness to get House's attention after the home's pet cat, Debbie, sleeps next to her. It seems that Debbie only pays a visit to people if they are about to die and does so with alarming accuracy. While House dismisses Morgan as a nut job, he is intrigued by her theory on the kiss-of-death cat, and sets out to disprove it. When Morgan falls seriously ill, he and the team are forced to get to the bottom of both mysteries. Meanwhile, Taub struggles with his finances and reconnects with an old high school friend at the clinic whose business successes present Taub with an entrepreneurial opportunity he had not previously considered.

The team reopens the case of a teenage girl who was murdered in 1976, and uncover evidence that she had become involved with a notorious motorcycle gang shortly before her death. The victim's father sees her as he lays down flowers where she died.

This commercial begins with a young boy in the 1970s. He is in a bike store looking at a new bike, and he asks the salesman, "Is it fast?" The salesman give a non-committal answer and tells him it has 10 speeds (i.e., a 10-speed bike). Fast forward a few years, and the boy - who is now a teen - is looking to upgrade. He's talking to a guy about buying his used moped. Again he asks, "Is it fast?" Again, he gets a vague response when the guy says, "It's got a lightning bolt."
