"Official 2013 Lincoln MKZ - Phoenix - Super Bowl 2013" This Super Bowl XLVII commercial begins with an old Lincoln Town Car driving through the desert. Out of nowhere, a huge ball of fire engulfs the car and it is reborn out of fire into the new Lincoln MKZ. The ad is titled "Phoenix" because a Phoenix is a mythological bird that is born and reborn from fire. There is a montage of other images including a large bird of prey flying off the hood of the car, and then a closeup of the bird's eyes. We then see a Lincoln factory with automated robot arms building a car while a drummer plays on his drum set. Next we see an origami paper crane made out of a dollar bill which is part of a larger sculpture creating the number 45 - representing the miles per gallon of gas that the vehicle gets. A woman is then shown enjoying the very large sunroof while riding town the highway. An obligatory image of Abraham Lincoln in his top hat is shown at the end. It's not what you think. It's a Phoenix with four wheels. It's a hawk with night vision goggles. It's marching to the beat of a different drum, and where beauty meets brains. It's big ideas with smaller footprints, and knowing there's always more in the world to see.
