Luther is sent on the hunt of a vigilante killer, killing those he believes have lost their right to life. The case probes the interests of the media, and soon the team have a political and criminal nightmare on their hands. As public support seems to grow for the killer, the team put themselves in danger to try and stop him killing again - however, Ripley and the vigilante come face-to-face where only one can come out of the encounter alive.
