Jules finds an instant connection with her new shrink, Glenn, until she discovers the unfortunate but hilarious truth about her method of treatment; Ellie is jealous over Jules' fondness for Glenn; a bet between Laurie and Travis leads to a sweet sibling-like moment; and Bobby acts out his frustrations that Jules and Grayson are dating.

Damon and Elena try to get back her memories with no luck, Elena gives up and crosses the border but Damon grabs her in time that she doesn't die. Elena only remembers bits and pieces but not enough to love Damon again. Damon decides to let Elena go while dropping her off at her dorm. Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline need to get Tripp back from Enzo before the people who wanted Tripp back kills Caroline's mom. Enzo secretly turns Tripp into a vampire without Caroline or Stefan knowing. Tripp crosses the Mystic Falls border and dies, while Caroline gets her mom back. Caroline sees that they hurt her mom so Stefan and her takes Sheriff Forbes to the hospital and while waiting for her, Stefan and Caroline talk about what Enzo said earlier (that Caroline loved Stefan and how he didn't notice). They talk and Stefan apologizes for not knowing, which gets Caroline mad. Liam tells Elena that he is close to knowing how the girl who was in the maze recovered so quickly, which gets Elena alarmed since Elena's blood is what made the girl from the corn maze recover so quickly.

Derek's sister shows up at the hospital, and things go awry between the siblings; the Chief tries to help Alex with his trauma of elevators; Meredith and Derek tries to help Christina with her post-traumatic stress.
