A film adaptation of the book, the film chronicles the adventures of middle school student Greg Heffley and his best friend Rowley Jefferson over the course of an academic year, as told through Greg's journal and hand-drawn cartoons. The two best friends also have to get through some obstacles to get through middle school, such as surviving their weird neighborhood kid Fregley, having to wrestle a very tough girl named Patty Farrell, having to play outdoor Phys Ed games without shirts on, avoiding being killed by Greg's older brother, Rodrick, getting very embarrassed by Greg's mother, Susan, and, worst of all, trying to avoid getting the infamous cheese touch, which was started by Darren Walsh, and Greg would have gotten it if it weren't for Chirag Gupta.

Laurel Ayres is the smart and single woman trying to make it up the Wall Street corporate ladder, until one day she finds out that she is passed over for a promotion because she is a woman. Unable to face that fact that her less smart and sexist male protege (Frank) has now become her boss, she quits and tries to start up her own company only to find out that the male dominated world of Wall Street is not interested in taking an African American woman seriously, and thus is forced to create a fictional white man (Robert S. Cutty) in order to be judged on her own merits. Ayres financial wisdom is joined by the intelligent and computer-savvy secretary Sally Dugan who also was not properly recognized for her talents, and together they are able to become the most successful independent stock brokers in the world while helping a struggling high tech computer company stay afloat.

The Robshaws get to grips with the home life and food of the 1990s and start the decade delighting in the vast quantities of food now available from around the globe - but soon realise there are definite downsides to the drive towards cheaper and cheaper food of previous years. Giles Coren and food historian Polly Russell introduce them to the culinary treats of the era, from bagged salad and cook-in sauces to organic veg boxes and the gastro pub.[4]

After Addison discovers that a mentally unbalanced pregnant patient has lost her baby, Violet must convince her that the baby has died and that surgery is necessary, while Cooper must tell a longtime patient he must remove part of his jaw due to a fast-growing cancer. Meanwhile, Dell copes with the absence of his daughter after his ex moves for a new job, and Sam and Addison find themselves suppressing their feelings for two very unattainable people.

House is recruited by the CIA to help diagnose a deathly ill agent. The agent's case is spearheaded by Dr. Samira Terzi, who offers very little information on the agent's history or previous assignments. With limited information, House uses some unorthodox methods to try and determine a diagnosis in time to save his patient's life. Meanwhile, Foreman faces a huge uphill battle from the remaining fellowship candidates when they start questioning his judgment while arguing over the proper diagnosis of a female drag car racer who passes out after a race.
