After the funeral of Hank's father Al, Hank comes back to L.A. with a new manuscript, that he wants Karen to read. After receiving a bonus paycheck, he buys a new car for himself and a new guitar for Becca.

Robin is feeling a little lost because of her unemployment, and becomes a "Wooo!" party girl. Lily tries to fit in with Robin's new friends, but Robin confirms that Lily is her best friend and she just needs the Woo! girls to unwind as a single person. Barney gives Ted a shot at designing a new bank building, but Barney is swayed by the Sprockets-like Swedish collective architects "Sven". Marshall steps in and Ted is awarded the contract.

Fatal Instinct is a 1993 comedy film directed by Carl Reiner. It parodies the erotic thriller movie genre, which at the time had reached its commercial peak. The film stars Armand Assante as a lawyer and cop named Ned Ravine who has an affair with a woman named Lola Cain played by Sean Young. Kate Nelligan stars as Ned Ravine's wife and Sherilyn Fenn stars as Laura Lincolnberry, Ravine's secretary. The film's title was a combination of Fatal Attraction and Basic Instinct, with Michael Douglas starring in both films.
