Everyone is back home in Newport and Marissa is recovering. Julie unfairly blames Ryan for the incident and forbids him from seeing Marissa. Sandy starts his new job, but finds himself surprised by the heavy casework, meanwhile Kirsten finds herself is displeased when Sandy shares a cocktail with his attractive new co-worker, Rachel. Ryan enrolls at Harbor High School. Julie betrays Jimmy and Marissa. Ryan is made to take a placement examination for Harbor High school, but risks his future, leaving in the middle of the test to prevent Julie sending Marissa away to San Diego.
