J.D. begins to fall for Dr. Kim Briggs, a urologist who has supposedly always been present, but was invisible to JD because she wore a wedding ring. She shares a patient with JD, but when Dr. Cox reveals that she's refusing to do a risky surgery to keep her statistics up, he begins to have mixed feelings. Elliot considers breaking up with Keith after he refuses to stand up for himself, but Carla, amid her pregnancy hormones, tries to save the relationship. Meanwhile, Dr. Kelso decides to trust the Janitor to fetch cash from a deposit at home, which he regrets. During the opening title sequence Dr. Kim Briggs steps into the credits and switches the X-ray around, saying, "That's backwards, it's been bugging me for years."

Before he was tricked into marrying Joy, Earl had been dating Jessie, a clerk at a bail bonds company. When Jessie objected to being dumped, Joy knocked out her two front teeth. Jessie seeks revenge by becoming a bounty hunter. Joy hides from Jessie at an abandoned caravan in which Earl and she "own" but Jessie finds her and they fight but Joy knocks out her front teeth again.

Andy has his last day of his Children's show. Ben, Leslie, April and Ron reminisce how far Andy has come in Pawnee. April finds it difficult for her and Andy to leave Pawnee.

Frankie fears that a confrontation with trashy neighbor Rita Glossner is at hand when Sue has a run-in with her sons. Meanwhile, Axl tries to bribe Brick when he's asked to teach his little brother how to kick a ball for a gym requirement, but it's Brick who turns the tables on Axl and ends up bribing him for another favor.
