The family decides Burt should get a vasectomy; Virginia and Sabrina stand off when they learn each other's secrets.

Doug, Carrie, Deacon and Kelly are all invited to the wedding of some mutual friends - who none of them can stand. When they get the invitation and realize that the wedding is in Maryland, Doug and Carrie come up with a plan to say they were there, without actually attending. All they need is the help of Deacon and Kelly to corroborate their story. At the last minute, Deacon and Kelly have to cancel their plans because one of their kids is sick. Doug and Carrie end up driving all the way to Maryland in a rush to make sure their presence is noticed by the bride and groom, so they can get credit for their attendance. Meanwhile, Arthur convinces Spence to play along as his son in order to get a deal on buying a new pair of shoes.

The show centered around Tom Corbett, a handsome, thirtyish magazine publisher and widower from Los Angeles who had shouldered the responsibility of raising his freckled-faced, six-year-old son, Eddie, who often cleverly manipulated his father about getting a new wife, shortly after the death of Eddie's mother and Tom's wife, Helen. Tom's domestic arrangements were managed, highly competently, by his Japanese housekeeper, Mrs. Livingston, who was diplomatic and full of sage advice and would also look after Eddie, especially his dirty work. Mrs. Livingston is best remembered for the way she addressed Bixby's character as "Mr. Eddie's Father." Tom worked with Tina Rickles who was his secretary at a magazine company. Norman Tinker, who was the head of another family, worked as a radical photographer at the same company, and would also become Eddie's occasional uncle.

American Hardcore is a documentary directed by Paul Rachman and written by Steven Blush. It is based on the book American Hardcore: A Tribal History also written by Blush. It was released on September 22, 2006 on a limited basis. The film features some early pioneers of the hardcore punk music scene including Bad Brains, Black Flag, D.O.A., Minor Threat, The Minutemen, SS Decontrol, and others. It was released on DVD by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on February 20, 2007.
