Doug has recently lost a lot of weight, and to celebrate, he wants to take Carrie away for a romantic weekend. He surprises her with a trip to the lakeside lodge they went to many years before, but the surprise is on him when he discovers that it wasn't Carrie, but a former girlfriend with whom he spent a very romantic weekend at this lakeside retreat all those years ago.

Tommy finds out about Sheila's miscarriage and reacts badly. He later gets a visit from Jimmy, who orders Tommy to get her pregnant again. Also, Sean learns his new girlfriend has a suspicious past; Jerry has trouble communicating with his son; and Tommy gets kicked out of his apartment.

Charlie uses the weapon to escape the prison and goes outside, where a CERT greets him with guns drawn, and he faints. Flashback: A teenaged Watson tours an elite prep school and is mesmerized by the wealth and depth of education. She witnesses a rehearsal for the school's (all-white) production of Dreamgirls and is shocked by a white girl in an Afro wig performing "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." Returning to her school in the Bronx, she is discouraged by the poor conditions and develops a negative attitude.

Barney's wedding gift to Jimmy and Sabrina is plane tickets for the family to fly to Los Angeles for a taping of Hope's favorite TV show, Yo Zappa Do! But Jimmy's fear of flying turns it into a road trip. The show's star, Trevor, turns out to be a former, albeit young, adversary of Jimmy's. Meanwhile, Ricardo (Wilmer Valderrama) is back as Burt's and Virginia's house guest, and he does all he can to make the living arrangement more permanent. To be continued...

After opening Daddy Day Care, Charlie and Phil decide to expand their business and buys a dilapidated camp they attended as kids, turning it into Daddy Day Camp. The two men soon face foreclosure, low enrollment, and plenty of repairs. The few kids that remain at the camp eventually band together when Charlie's father, Col. Buck Hinton, starts to control the whole camp and eventually the kids start to form a team instead of fighting each other. They then battle the rival day camp in an Olympiad. In the end, the kids prevail and more kids come to the camp saving Camp Driftwood from foreclosure.
