"Sainsbury's OFFICIAL Christmas 2014 Ad"
This Sainsbury's Christmas advert depicts a real event which occurred during World War I referred to as the "Christmas Truce". In the ad, a man is eating his field rations on Christmas Eve when he receives a piece of mail from home. In it are some pictures and a bar of chocolate. In the cold of the night while sitting in the trenches, someone starts singing the "Silent Night" Christmas carol. Both the English and German sides sing it in their own languages. The next morning, one soldier decides to get out of the trench and go meet with the enemy that he sang with across the battlefield the night before. Soon they are shaking hands, taking pictures, and playing football (soccer). In the middle of their fun, they hear explosions in the distance - the war is not over. They go back to their sides after swapping their snacks.

Don't do it!
My name is Jim.
My name is Otto.
Pleased to meet you Otto.
Happy Christmas.
(Lyrics - Silent Night in English)
Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin, mother and child
Holy infant, tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
(Lyrics - Silent Night in German)
NOTE: The German lyrics do not translate into the same words as the typical English version of the song, but the tune carries the same melody
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht (Silent night, holy night)
Alles schläft; einsam wacht (All is sleeping, alone watches)
Nur das traute hochheilige Paar. (Only the close, most holy couple.)
Holder Knabe im lockigen Haar, (Blessed boy in curly hair,)
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh! (Sleep in heavenly peace!)
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh! (Sleep in heavenly peace!)
