Plot / Description

"Two economic visions | The Briefing"

Voiceover

We have to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. That means we need new jobs, good jobs, with rising incomes. I want us to invest in you.
Mr. Trump, you're calling for tax cuts for the wealthy?
The wealthy are going to create tremendous jobs.
He didn't pay any federal income tax.
That makes me smart.
Maybe he didn't do a good job and I was unsatisfied with his work, which our country should do, too.
Donald was one of the people who rooted for the housing crisis.
That's called business, by the way.

Written Text

At the first debate, two candidates laid out two visions for America's economy:
A candidate who will fight for everyone, not just those at the top...
That means we need new jobs, good jobs, with rising incomes.
I want us to invest in you.
and a candidate who will fight for himself.
He admitted that he'd cut his own taxes.
Mr. Trump, you're calling for tax cuts for the wealthy?
The wealthy are going to create tremendous jobs.
He admitted he dodges his own taxes.
He didn't pay any federal income tax.
That makes me smart.
He admitted to stiffing people who work for him.
Maybe he didn't do a good job and I was unsatisfied with his work, which our country should do, too.
He admitted to rooting for the housing crisis.
Donald was one of the people who rooted for the housing crisis.
That's called business, by the way.
This election is a choice between an economy that benefits everyone
and an economy that benefits Donald Trump.
The choice is yours.
