I think all four of us have very different styles and we're interested in very different types of subjects, but I think what we have in common is a devotion to excellence, to getting great performances from our actors from a unique and visionary perspective on the world.
And James Cameron, the word that comes to mind, is, people use the word but they don't quite know what, what is a visionary? What does a visionary do? He or she sees before you and shows you the way. And in Cameron's films, in Cameron's work, there's no stopping him.
I think Martin Scorsese is, without a doubt, one of the great masters of cinema. Not only because he is a cinephile, he is a person with a knowledge on art, far beyond the films he makes. Kathryn Bigelow is an incredible director. Her observation of the human condition is very beautiful.
Innaritu, this is an interesting filmmaker, for me, sort of a personal vision that he has in the movies he's made over the years, and has taken that to another level. So this is somebody who's really at the vanguard of modern cinema.
They are extraordinary talents who have influenced me my entire career, and will continue to influence me. So this is actually a very heady moment.
To be in the company of Kathryn Bigelow, and Innaritu, and James Cameron, is, uh...they're the top of the line
