- Type: Television Commercial
This commercial begins with a show of a man with "old wealth" style putting together a ship in a bottle. As the camera pans back we see his is in "jail" - a luxury prison, and his butler is laying in a bunk next to him. The camera continues down the cell block and we see another rich old man picking the lock to his cell door. He gets it open, and he and his cell mate (who picks up a stuffed dodo) start running down the prison hall. All the other prisoners stand at their cell bars with champagne glasses and shouting, "Scandal! Scandal!" The guards are not worried. They begin by "releasing the hounds". Instead of the vicious dogs you expect, they let out a bunch of perfectly groomed Afghan Hounds. The man with the dodo throws it under a gate that is sliding closed and they both get through and quickly jump through the top window over a door. That didn't work, so the man in charge says to "hit them with the Kenny G". All the other angry prisoners are soothed, and one of the escapees almost succumbs to the smooth Jazz of Kenny G, but they continue on. They get outside and their chauffeur/drivers are waiting. The first man starts to get into the Mercedes Benz, while the other guy tries to warn him. The first guy feels safe because his "father owned one." The second guy gets in the Audi A8 (no driver) instead. The Mercedes begins to pull off, but turns directly back into "prison reception" trapping the man again, but the Audi speeds off, safe. Kenny G plays his easy listening soft Jazz to sooth the "riot" at the luxury prison. Prisoner 1: Breaking out, let's go. Prisoner 2: Got to get the dodo. Prisoners: Scandal! Scandal! Scandalous. Security Guard: Warden. Two boys going for a stroll. Warden: Release the hounds. Prisoner #1: Ow, my spleen! Prisoner #2: Come on. Security Guard: Now what? It didn't work. Warden: Hit 'em with the Kenny G. Prisoner #1: Oh, I love this song! Prisoner #2: Focus! Prisoner #2: Lancaster, no! It's a trap! Prisoner #1: Nonsense, my father owned one. (Mercedes-Benz) Prisoner #1: My goodness, I've been hoodwinked. Prisoner Reception Escape the confines of old luxury. The new Audi A8 is here. Luxury has progressed. Audi - Truth in Engineering
