At Popisms.com, we show you how pop culture (TV, movies, books, ads) is connected to other pop culture. For example, what song is in that Olympics commercial or TV episode? What book is that character reading? What music is another song sampling? We answer these questions and many more.

    Plot / Description

"Grey Poupon - The Lost Footage"
This commercial is a continuation of the Grey Poupon from 1981. In the original ad, two rich men have come to a stop in their chauffeured Rolls Royce cars. The man in the back of one asks the passenger of the other if he has any Grey Poupon. But of course he does, but after handing the jar through the window, the borrower's car drives off without returning the Dijon mustard. To get back his precious condiment, a car chase ensues. They start driving off-road and then crash onto a golf course. They steal some golf clubs as they drive by and start fencing with them between the speeding luxury cars. They continue down a muddy road and then speed into a small town. At the end, a Champagne gun pops out of the hood of one of the cars and stars firing corks.

    Voiceover

In 1981, one man gave another man a jar of Grey Poupon.
Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon?
    But of course.
But one man didn't give it back. You thought you knew the whole story, but you were egregiously mistaken.
Robbery! You took my Grey Poupon.
I haven't added it to my pork loin!
    Scoundrel!
