At Popisms.com, we show you how pop culture (TV, movies, books, ads) is connected to other pop culture. For example, what song is in that Olympics commercial or TV episode? What book is that character reading? What music is another song sampling? We answer these questions and many more.

Plot / Description

"Gecko Book Reading from You're Only Human: Curiosity Killed the Cat"

Voiceover

You're only human as read by me, the Gecko.

Page 18. They say curiosity killed the cat.
Not true. What actually killed the cat was a hairball. It got stuck in the poor fellow's throat. His friend tried to do the Heimlich maneuver but it was too late. So if you want a long and prosperous life, watch the hairballs and be as curious as you can.

I've always been curious. I once had someone bake me inside a cake to see what would happen. As the batter started to solidify, I decided to take a bite. It was double fudge chocolate as I recall. Turns out I'm gluten intolerant. Almost killed me.

So forget what I said earlier. It's quite possible that curiosity did indeed kill the cat.
