Ben Fox discovers that his ex-girlfriend, Darcy, is getting married so Ben sets out to crash the wedding. Meanwhile, Kate gets advice from her friend BJ on how to obtain more sex appeal on her first date with her new boyfriend, George (Jon Foster). As a result, their first date is disastrous. Ben then finds out that George is cheating on her. Ben rushes to tell Kate about George's infidelity. George makes up a lame excuse on why he is with another woman; shortly after, Kate breaks up with him. Elsewhere, Ben only has fifteen minutes to crash the wedding, but he is too late. In the end, Ben moves in with Kate and her daughter Maddie.

Ted struggles to find the line between right and wrong, especially after the company decides to freeze Phil in its new cryogenics chamber.

Jamie Reagan graduates from the Police Academy and joins NYPD the same day a nine-year-old Latina girl is abducted walking home from school. Frank addresses the press about the case, and Danny is questioned about his interrogation tactics.

When Cameron, a talented computer hacker, gets caught hacking into a college's computer system to give himself full scholarship for life, he is drafted by Oz to work for him at Contra Security. There he meets Melanie Garcia, Cash and Josh Armstrong, who are then sent on an assignment to test the security at a car dealer by stealing a Lamborghini.

We meet 40ish year old Hank Moody in a church asking Jesus to help him get his life back on track. He is then distracted by a hot nun, which turns out to be a dream that is representative of his lifestyle. Sex-addicted Hank sleeps with many women including a woman who is cheating on her enraged and muscular husband and Mia, a 16-year-old girl (Hank assumes she is older). Moody also has to interact with ex-girlfriend Karen who might still love him. With her, they share the custody of their 12-year-old daughter Becca who is wise beyond her years but is starting to have a sex life, which freaks out both of her parents.

Jules is a woman in her forties who's five months out of her marriage and being pressured by her best friends into getting "back out there" and finding the dating scene not her style. But with a teenage son who would be happier if she were to hide out in the house, she gets the business from him when she feels like she's "allowed to have a life." Now in her forties, she finds herself as a divorcee and eager to live the dating scene that she missed. Laurie, her younger co-worker, wants to show Jules how to go out there and have fun. Ellie, her sarcastic, married and content to her average but lovable husband Andy. There's also her family, her ex-husband Bobby and her son Travis, who will test her patience, and her new fortysomething divorced neighbor Gray, who doesn't believe that Jules can date again.

The President's son and other children of Washington's elite, along with chaperone-father Francis Gibson, get taken from a bus on a rural road. The elaborate plan is effective until student Anton Roth is rescued by injured Secret Service Agent Marcus Finley, who has been shot by a fellow agent, and they escape into the woods. The remaining hostages are taken to a house, where Gibson plots to take a gun from a kidnapper. This is also part of the plan, as he is injured and taken to a room where he is revealed to be the mastermind with a detailed notebook. Even though they had last parted on bad terms, FBI Agent Dunn and her CEO sister Meg Fitch work together. Fitch's daughter is among the kidnapped and it is revealed the girl was actually Dunn's child. Gibson is shown as a CIA analyst bent on revenge for being betrayed by the government. His plan is to test the parents' loyalties to either their children or their country.
