Best Laid Plans

Best Laid Plans is a 1999 American crime film directed by Mike Barker. Bryce (Josh Brolin) is a successful man who returns to his tiny hometown for a visit. While there, he runs into his old friend Nick (Alessandro Nivola). The two decide to go out for the night. When they enter a bar, Bryce encounters Kathy (Reese Witherspoon), a blonde temptress whom he eventually takes home for the night. When he awakens, Kathy informs him that she is underage and threatens to tell the police that Bryce has committed statutory rape. Bryce panics and decides to tie her up and hide her away in the basement. He then makes a call to Nick. Unbeknownst to Bryce, Kathy is actually Nick's girlfriend Lissa. The two had schemed to use Bryce's money to pay off a $15,000 debt they owe small-time hood Jimmy (Terrence Howard).

Sam visits Elsa, who talks him into escaping with the team, despite knowing that she will be interrogated by the CIA. Schmidt says he can still get foolproof passports for the team, but learns from his supplier that the price has gone way up. This forces the team to recover a high-tech alarm-disarming gadget that Schmidt says he can instantly sell to a client named Thorne for $1 million. The recovery doesn't go smoothly, and the device is shot up in the team's escape, forcing them to make convincing-but-cosmetic repairs and try to sell it anyway. Meanwhile, Michael needs to deceive Agent Riley as to the team's true escape plans, so he has Maddie meet with Barry Burkowski to give him information on making bogus money transfers. Barry is arrested by Riley's men and Maddie tells Michael that she will be arrested too. Michael tells Maddie to escape the country with him.

Still upset with her mother over the Oscar situation, Ivy decides to build a relationship with her estranged father. Not knowing she has feelings for Ryan, Annie and Dixon sign Debbie up for an online dating service. While at the beach luau, Teddy gets jealous when he sees Ian with another guy and allows his feelings to control his actions. Meanwhile, Adrianna and Navid's relationship becomes strained, leading him into the arms of Silver. Elsewhere, Liam learns more about Laura and of her ex-boyfriend whom he attempts to make jealous in her favor.
