After learning that Deacon is a part of the Big Brother program, Doug feels inadequate and decides to sign up for the program to become a Big Brother himself. Doug is disappointed when his "Little Brother" not only doesn't share any of the same interests as Doug, but seems to be totally uninterested in everything that Doug suggests. That is until Deacon and his Little Brother bring up the idea of a 10 K run for a Heart Disease Charity. Doug agrees to run, even though he is overweight and out of shape, because this is the only thing that the boy has shown an interest in.
