Deacon has asked Doug to help him coach Kirby’s pee-wee football team. In order to motivate the team, Doug tells the kids about the semi-professional team that he used to play with, the Nassau Rebels, and how he stopped playing after he got married. Kirby isn't the least bit interested in football, and he leaves the field in order to go back to the car to watch a movie. Kirby makes a deal with Doug that unless Doug goes back to re-join the Rebels, he doesn't have to play pee-wee football anymore.
Carrie is reluctant to let Doug participate in the tryouts for the Rebels because she is afraid of how dangerous it will be. That is until she sees a picture of him when he was younger and in better shape. She finds the old Doug sexy and is hopeful that his new training regimen and diet will get him back into shape again.
